At airport in Santo Domingo ready to begin our journey home. Yesterday I said Mass in Spanish & we had a celebration with people with special needs. It was an enjoyable time for all. This is me with Eduardo, a young man I have known for 24 years.

Met with more children yesterday then took a ride into one of the remote areas. There is a river which must be crossed to get to one area. The water was high so it was not possible for us but we saw these guys cross. Never say never. With God much is possible.

Holy Thursday, The institution of the Eucharist. Jesus gave us His Body & Blood as food for our journey. When someone says I get nothing out of Mass my response is you receive the Body of Christ Jesus. He dwells within us in a way like no other.

Tenebrae, a service of light and darkness. Tonight at 7:30 pm at SJN. Jesus came into our world to bring light into our darkness. To be an example of patient suffering. To remind us that our trials can bring us closer to God if we allow them.

“Amen, amen, I say to you, one of you will betray me.” Every time we sin we betray the Lord. Perhaps not in the same way Judas did, but we turn away from Him. Sometimes we turn our back on Him completely. We pray we never turn away from Jesus.

Today in the Diocese of Harrisburg, Bishop Senior will bless the oils used in the sacraments throughout the Diocese. What a beautiful way to begin this Holy Week. May we take time this week from our normal routine to reflect on God’s great love.

“I have not come to call the righteous to repentance but sinners.” When snow first falls it is beautiful and pure. After a while it can get dirty looking. We are born pure but overtime we too get a bit dirty. Lent is a time to clean up a bit.

Please stay safe in the pending snow storm and know of our prayers for each one of you!

“Draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power.” Where do we get our strength? People look for strength in many different ways and places yet the Lord is right there in front of us at every moment of every day. Turn towards Him.

“Beloved, we love God because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother, he is a liar; for whoever does not love a brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.” Love is not easy but worth the effort.
