Grandview Church Lancaster

Grandview Church Lancaster Grandview Church in Lancaster, PA, practices a thinking faith that likes questions. We don't take the Bible literally; we do take it seriously.

We make our spirituality active through acts of justice locally and globally. We believe God is love. In all these ways, we live out the best aspects of Methodist faith. Jesus Christ calls Grandview Church to be a fully inclusive church, recognizing the sacred worth of all people, including those of every race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, and ability. We embrace those who are

marginalized for any reason. Grandview cultivates respectful discussion of differences among all who seek to love their neighbors

Food Tote Packing Needs:
On July 19, during the 10:00 a.m. hour, we will once again be partnering with the Parish Resource Center (PRC) to pack food totes. Our goal is to assemble 200 totes, which will be distributed through local doctors' offices to patients experiencing food insecurity.

To help make this possible, we are collecting a few items that the PRC often has difficulty securing in sufficient quantities:
-Cooking oil (16–48 oz. plastic bottles only; no glass bottles; any type of oil is acceptable)
-Manual can openers (any brand)

You can begin bringing donations immediately and place them in the gray tote located at the Hub Desk. Our goal is to collect 200 of each item.

Pulpit Swap!

On Sunday, we welcomed Rev. Jesse North, co-pastor of Grandview York, who preached at both services. Our topic of the morning was "harvest" from Matthew 9:35-10:23, which speaks of asking God to send "laborers into the harvest." Pastor Jesse asked us to consider harvest in terms of kingdom justice and the flowering of the fruits of the Spirit in those seeking to do kingdom work.

At 11am, special music was offered by Beatrice Levicoff, mezzo soprano.

Grandview had the privilege of hosting a very special service this past Sunday to remember McIntosh, Γ‰lise Rodgers' service dog and beloved friend (to the Rodgers family and so many at Grandview). We also offered a blessing for Elbe, Γ‰lise's new service dog.

Enjoy a few cherished snapshots from the day. ❀️🐾

On Sunday, Pastor Brent preached on a text from Matthew 9, which included the calling of Matthew as a disciple, and two dramatic healing stories. These stories illustrated for us how there is "No God of Too Late." God's time is always on time, whether it is calling us to serve or reaching out in our weakness.

Our special music at 11am was Christopher Alexander's arrangement of "K*m Ba Yah" by Sally Woodman, violin.

And together, we celebrated communion at both services.

Youth & Beyond takes on Mt. Gretna!

Thanks to our fearless leaders, Rachel & Evie, our youth students spent the morning hiking to the Governor Dick Observation Tower, and then enjoying an afternoon at Mt. Gretna Lake & Beach!

A was a beautiful day to be outside and building community with one another. Enjoy a few of our favorite snapshots from the day (yeah, that's us on top of that tower)!
