Grandview Church Lancaster

Grandview Church Lancaster Grandview Church in Lancaster, PA, practices a thinking faith that likes questions. We don't take the Bible literally; we do take it seriously.

We make our spirituality active through acts of justice locally and globally. We believe God is love. In all these ways, we live out the best aspects of Methodist faith. Jesus Christ calls Grandview Church to be a fully inclusive church, recognizing the sacred worth of all people, including those of every race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, and ability. We embrace those who are

marginalized for any reason. Grandview cultivates respectful discussion of differences among all who seek to love their neighbors

New Member Class, June 9, 6-8pm in the Library

This two hour session is a time to get to know other folks who are newer to Grandview and to learn about the church’s history, theology, and why we do what we do. The membership class is the only prerequisite for joining the church. And. There is no obligation to join after taking the class. Please let Pastor Jane know if you plan to attend or if you have questions.

This past Sunday was Pentecost, and together we celebrated the birth of the church as well as our newest 50 year members!

Pastor Brent preached from John 7 and Acts 2, as he explored the image of the Holy Spirit as fire, in our lives and in our world.

At 11am, the choir sang "Holy Spirit, Come Today" by Victor Johnson, with Liz Carney on flute and Allan Dutton on bongos.

It was a full day of celebration at Grandview!

On Sunday, May 31st during the 10am hour in Zerr Hall, the Youth & Beyond students will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast for the whole church to enjoy! While we are very excited for a large group of students to participate in our Jr. High Service Camp this Summer, we also realize that we need a larger vehicle for transportation! The funds raised from this event (by donation) will go towards the cost of renting a 12 passenger van for the week. Come hungry, enjoy some breakfast, and support the Grandview Youth!

Annual Memorial Day Sunday Service in the Garden, Sunday, May 24, 2026, 10:10am

Pastor Jane will offer the annual memorial service in The Garden. Sierra Hrubochak will share contemplative guitar music, and communion will be served. This brief service will honor and remember losses we’ve experienced. The Garden is a lovely place to be with one another in grief, no matter the loss or when the loss has occurred.

Grandview Church will be hosting The Heritage Chorale of Lancaster tomorrow evening from 7pm to 9pm.

"The Heritage Chorale is currently rehearsing our Spring concert program entitled “Deep Peace” — a title taken from composer Elaine Hagenberg’s rendition of this lovely Gaelic Blessing, wishing deep peace of Christ, the light of the world, to everyone. Please join us as we celebrate Spring with a selection of beloved gospels and American folk songs."

May is Teacher Appreciation Month, and we are so fortunate to have SO MANY teachers and educators at Grandview Church! We're sending out a HUGE "thank you" to the folks who devote early mornings and late nights, an endless amount of patience, and many encouraging words to make students feel seen and valued.

Your impact goes far beyond the classroom. THANK YOU! 🍎✏📖📏

We were all about "love" this past Sunday, as our very own Pastor Brent delivered a sermon titled "Love And Only Love." Pastor Brent talked about love as the nature and identity of God, and the impossibility of God's love being tamed or diminished by any of the other traits we understand God to hold.

We also enjoyed a piece from the Bell Choir titled "Joyful, Joyful," heard from Compeer (our May mission offering), and enjoyed service leadership from Families Ministry Associate, Kelly Kirk-Wentzel.
