Journey Church We're a community of people "in process". We have imperfect, messy lives, but we're pursuing & experiencing a transformative relationship with Jesus.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME AT JOURNEY. We don't care who you voted for, how many figures are in your income, what kind of flip flops you wear, what doubts or questions you have or even how messed up you think your life might be. We have a place for you...unless, of course, you're perfect. In that case, you might not like it around here, because we're a No-Perfect-People-Allowed kind of church. We're a community of people who are "in process." We have imperfect, messy lives, but we're pursuing and experiencing a transformative relationship with Jesus and one another. People often think they've got to get their act together before showing up at church. That's the exact opposite of what God intended. He, more than anyone, knows that life is challenging, and His church is meant to be friends who spur you on with both truth and love. So, whether you've been following Jesus for a long time or you're exploring faith for the first time, we're glad you're here.

🔥 HE CALLED DOWN FIRE FROM HEAVEN… THEN RAN FOR HIS LIFE! 😳

Wait… WHAT?!

Elijah was one of the boldest prophets in the Bible. He stood against false prophets, prayed for rain to stop, and watched God send fire from heaven! 🔥

But here’s the part we don’t always talk about…

Elijah was afraid. He was exhausted. He became so discouraged that he wanted to give up.

Sound familiar?

One day you’re feeling strong in your faith, ready to take on the world. The next, you’re overwhelmed, questioning yourself, and wondering if you have what it takes.

AND THEN CAME THE CAVE… 🪨

In 1 Kings 19, after one of the greatest victories of his life, Elijah found himself running from Queen Jezebel. The same man who boldly stood against 450 prophets of Baal was now hiding in a cave, afraid and feeling completely alone.

And that’s where God met him.

God asked Elijah, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” (1 Kings 19:9)

Then came a powerful wind, an earthquake, and a fire. But the Lord wasn’t in any of them.

And after the fire came a gentle whisper. ❤️

Sometimes we expect God to show up in the loud, dramatic moments of our lives. But sometimes He meets us in the quiet places, when we’re exhausted, afraid, and unsure of what comes next.

Elijah experienced God’s fire on the mountain, but he also encountered God’s gentle whisper at the cave.

And here’s what I love about this story…

God didn’t abandon Elijah in his cave. He met him there, listened to him, and gave him a new assignment.

The cave wasn’t the end of Elijah’s calling.

And whatever cave you find yourself in today doesn’t have to be the end of yours either!

Maybe your cave is fear.

Maybe it’s anxiety, disappointment, grief, or exhaustion.

Maybe you’ve been asking, “God, where are You?” while He’s been inviting you to quiet your heart and listen.

📖 James 5:17 reminds us, “Elijah was as human as we are.”

And 1 Corinthians 1:27 reminds us that God chooses what the world considers weak to demonstrate His power.

You don’t have to be fearless to be faithful.

You don’t have to have it all together for God to use you.

And you certainly don’t have to be perfect to have a purpose!

❤️ At Journey Church, we aren’t a room full of perfect people. We’re people learning to trust a perfect God.

💬 LET’S GET REAL: Are you standing boldly on the mountain right now, or are you sitting quietly in a cave?

Wherever you are, remember this:

🔥 The God who answered Elijah by fire is the same God who met him in a gentle whisper.

Don’t mistake a quiet season for God’s absence.

Maybe God isn’t asking you to be stronger right now. Maybe He’s asking you to listen, trust Him, and take the next step.

🐑🔥 YOU CAN’T FOLLOW THE SHEPHERD IF YOU KEEP INSISTING ON LEADING YOURSELF!

How many times have we asked God to lead us, only to jump the fence and wander into a pasture He never intended for us? 😳🐑

📖 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” — Psalm 23:1

There’s a reason God compares us to SHEEP!

We wander. We get distracted. We follow the crowd. And sometimes we don’t even realize how far we’ve drifted.

Sound familiar? 🙋‍♀️

We try to control our families, finances, problems, and futures. But the truth is, we were never meant to figure it all out alone!

❤️ That’s why we need the Good Shepherd!

🐑 When we wander, He seeks us.

🐑 When we’re lost, He guides us.

🐑 When we’re worried, He reminds us to trust Him.

🐑 When we fall short, His love remains.

“I shall not want” doesn’t mean we’ll have everything we WANT. It means we can TRUST God to provide what we NEED! 🙌

🔥 THE CHALLENGE: Stop jumping fences looking for greener pastures. Maybe everything you truly need is found by staying close to the Shepherd!

We trust God with our prayers, our families, and our futures. But do we trust Him with our finances?

At Journey Church, we believe giving is more than a financial transaction. It’s an act of worship, gratitude, and faith.

📖 2 Corinthians 9:7 reminds us that God loves a cheerful giver.

Whether it’s $5, $50, or $500, giving isn’t about competing with someone else’s generosity. It’s about giving willingly from the heart.

🚨 WHAT IF THE TROUBLE YOU’RE FACING ISN’T A SIGN THAT GOD HAS LEFT YOU… BUT AN OPPORTUNITY FOR HIM TO SHOW YOU HE’S STILL WITH YOU? ❤️

Read that again. Because someone needs this reminder today.

We often pray for God to take away our troubles. But sometimes His greatest work happens right in the middle of them.

🙏 God didn’t keep Daniel out of the lions’ den. He protected him in it.

🌊 God didn’t stop Pharaoh’s army from pursuing the Israelites. He made a way through the Red Sea when there seemed to be no way out.

⛈️ God didn’t keep the disciples out of the storm. Jesus was right there with them.

And He’s with YOU, too.

At Journey Church, we know that everyone who walks through our doors is facing something. Maybe it’s illness, financial struggles, a difficult marriage, grief, or simply wondering what tomorrow holds.

Jesus never promised us a trouble-free life. He promised us something better—His presence through it all.

📖 John 16:33: “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

🍂 As we continue through this season of Fall Revival, remember that being restored doesn’t mean you’ve never been broken. Sometimes restoration begins when we realize we were never walking alone.

📖 Romans 14:1–6 reminds us to welcome one another without judgment, respect our differences, and honor God in all we do.

At Journey Church, Faith & Fitness isn’t about competition or comparison. It’s about growing stronger in body, faith, and friendship while encouraging one another along the way! ❤️

🍁 The leaves are changing…are you? 🍂

Fall is officially here! Although we’re still enjoying temperatures in the high 70s, the trees are beginning to show us that a new season is coming. 🍁

For some (yes, Kellie we’re looking at you! 😉), fall is their favorite season. Others might be counting the days until the next one!

But here’s something worth thinking about…

Just as trees change and prepare for what’s ahead, God calls us to grow and prepare for the seasons He has planned for us.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”

🌿 Have you opened your Bible today? What’s God nudging you to read? Maybe there’s something He wants to show you before your next season begins.

❤️ 10 Women. 10 Proverbs. One Beautiful Church Family. ❤️

Have you ever looked around your church and realized you’re surrounded by living examples of God’s Word?

I was reading Proverbs about friendship, and 10 beautiful women from Journey Church came to mind. Each one shows me something different about loving like Jesus.

🌸 Tiffany — Proverbs 17:17 | Love
“A friend loves at all times.”
Between going to school, being a loving wife, and caring for her husband through illness, Tiffany reminds me that love isn’t just something we say. It’s something we DO.

☕ Sara — Proverbs 11:25 | Generosity
Sara makes a mean cup of coffee, but her greatest gift is her servant’s heart. She’s always finding ways to take care of others, one cup and one act of kindness at a time.

🤗 Cindy — Proverbs 18:24 | Friendship
If you’ve met Cindy, you’ve probably received a hug or something delicious to eat! She reminds me that sometimes the quickest way to someone’s heart is through a warm embrace and a full plate.

🙏 Robin — Proverbs 27:17 | Strengthening Others
Robin pours herself into the kids and faithfully lifts others up in prayer. She’s helping plant seeds of faith that may grow for generations.

🏡 Kyra — Proverbs 14:21 | Kindness
Kyra opens her home for Bible Bettie’s, creating a place where women can gather, laugh, share, and grow closer to God. Hospitality is a ministry, and she lives it.

💗 Susan — Proverbs 3:27 | Helping Others
Need a helping hand or even a place to stay? Susan is willing to step up. She reminds me that sometimes the greatest gift we can give someone is simply making room for them.

💪 Lisa — Proverbs 13:20 | Walking Together
My fellow fitness friend, always along for the ride! Whether we’re working out or walking through life, I’m grateful for someone willing to show up and keep moving forward together.

🌷 Tammy — Proverbs 12:25 | Encouragement
“Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.”
Tammy is an encourager! She reminds me how powerful a few kind words can be when someone needs them most.

🙏 Kellie — Proverbs 27:9 | Heartfelt Friendship
As our pastor’s wife, Kellie has a heart for people. She’s often the first to offer a prayer, a hug, or genuine concern. She doesn’t just ask how you’re doing. She truly cares about the answer. That’s a beautiful reflection of Christ’s love.

🌼 Connie — Proverbs 15:30 | Joy
“A cheerful look brings joy to the heart.”
Connie greets us with a smile and a hug when we walk through the doors. She may struggle to remember my name, but I’ll never forget hers. Because sometimes it’s not about remembering someone’s name. It’s about making them feel remembered, welcomed, and loved. ❤️

And here’s what really struck me…

These women aren’t perfect. Neither am I. But each one teaches me something about friendship that I want to become better at myself.

Some feed us. Some pray for us. Some open their homes. Some encourage us. Some walk beside us. And some simply greet us with a smile that makes us feel like we belong.

Not every sermon comes from behind a pulpit. Sometimes it’s delivered through a cup of coffee, a warm meal, an open door, or a hug.

That’s what I love about Journey Church. We’re not just attending church. We’re learning how to BE the church. ❤️

🦪 WHAT IF YOUR IRRITATION IS BECOMING YOUR PEARL? 🤍

A pearl begins with an irritant inside a mollusk. Instead of allowing that irritation to define it, layer by layer, something beautiful begins to form.

Isn’t that just like what God can do in our lives? 🙌

The difficult person. The unexpected setback. The season that tests your patience. The hurt you can’t seem to shake.

What if God is using that very irritation to produce something precious in you?

📖 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” — James 1:2–3

🍂 As we continue our Fall Revival at Journey Church, remember that restoration doesn’t always mean removing the irritation. Sometimes God uses it to transform us.

Don’t waste your irritation. Trust God with the pearl! 🦪✨

We wouldn’t go days without eating, yet some of us go weeks without opening our Bibles, praying, or spending time with Jesus.

Jesus said, “I am the bread of life.” — John 6:35

🍂 This Fall Revival at Journey Church, we’re reminded that restoration begins from the inside out.

The world can fill your schedule, your stomach, and your bank account… but only Jesus can satisfy your soul. ❤️

🍂 NOT EVERYONE IS IN THE SAME SEASON OF LIFE. ❤️

“He restores my soul.” — Psalm 23:3

As we continue our Fall Revival at Journey Church, Psalm 23 reminds us that God is with us in every season.

Some of us are loving the season we’re in! Life is good, prayers are being answered, and blessings are overflowing. 🙌

Others are praying for this season to end. Waiting on medical results, struggling financially, grieving a loss, facing family challenges, or simply feeling exhausted by life.

And some are somewhere in between.

Look around at the world today. There’s uncertainty, division, and hardship everywhere. But there’s also beauty, joy, answered prayers, and reasons to be grateful.

The same Shepherd who leads us beside still waters also walks with us through the darkest valleys.

Psalm 23 doesn’t promise we’ll avoid difficult seasons. It promises we don’t have to walk through them alone.

❤️ That’s what makes our Journey Church family so special. We celebrate together in the good seasons, pray together in the difficult ones, and encourage one another along the way.

🍂 Whatever season you’re in, God isn’t finished with your story. He’s still restoring, guiding, and providing.
