Who is the New Pastor of Westside Church on 90th street west?
Hello, my name is Jordan Hunter, and I am the new Pastor at Westside Church of the Nazarene. My wife, Vanessa and I have lived in Antelope Acres for over 10 years. My wife was raised in Antelope Valley, and I am originally from Vermont. I am a United States Navy Veteran and have been a Carpenter for over 25 years. When COVID hit in 2020 there was a deep transition in my life and I felt a strong call to ministry. I began serving in a small home church, called the Lantern Church, here in Antelope Acres for the last 5 years, while attending, and now graduated, from The Masters University in Santa Clarita, with a Bachelor's in Biblical Studies and Theology.
Theologically I am Protestant and believe unapologetically in the inerrancy, infallibility, authority, and sufficiency of the Bible. My greatest passion is grounded in Ephesians 12:4 “Equipping the Saints for the work of ministry and building up the body of Christ.” I am an expository preacher and teach directly from the Bible, grounding all doctrinal and theological positions directly from the Word of God. Another passion of mine in ministry is to witness the transforming power of the Holy Spirit on a broken and lost soul, that has transitioned into a state of living life, now and forever, abundantly full of hope, joy, love, and peace. It is my greatest desire to serve the Lord and others so that they may grow and serve the Lord as well.
There is no greater need for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to pe*****te the hardened and broken hearts of men. We are currently witnessing the decline of morality and societal deconstruction; this is nothing more than symptoms of a society who has rejected God. It is my greatest honor and pleasure to serve in this critical time of need so that the Lord's name might be magnified above all others and so that He receives all the praise and glory. For in the end, it is He who is the only God, above all gods, it is He alone who is King, above all kings, and it is He alone that we ought to serve. My goal is not to tickle the ears of those who are looking for an impressive sermon, or to try and fulfill the carnal desires of man through entertainment or emotionalism, nor to be in a hierarchical position of authority for power and prestige. Rather, it is my desire to preach, teach, disciple, give council, and serve for the sole purpose that the name of God might be magnified in my life and that He alone is honored through my service.
