Some photos from Youth Group this past Sunday night!

We had a cookie decorating contest, themed around which one we’d be willing to pay the most for, and then played Chameleon and Hide and Seek in the dark afterwards.

And the galaxy cookie, the rightmost cookie in the third picture, won!

For the month of July, we’ve been observing our yearly July Rest. We pause Sunday School, fellowship time, and most extra activities outside of our worship service.

Why?

Part of the reason is to give a break to so many of our volunteers, who give so much of their time and energy to help the church run!

Related to that, we find in the creation account of Genesis God setting an example as he “rested” on the seventh day of creation. July Rest is part of a rhythm that seeks to encapsulate that example.

Today, in Children’s Ministry, we talked about Esther and then about the Jewish holiday Purim which is a celebration of Esther. One of the things they do to celebrate is have parades, so the children had fun creating festive masks.

Our missionaries of the month have been Lamar and Janice Stoltzfus, and we had an opportunity to connect with them this past week. They work at a boarding school called Rift Valley Academy in Kenya, which is a home away from home to many children of missionaries. Because of this, they normally skype in to our in-person service, but because of the snow this past Sunday, we were all online!

They shared a few requests to keep in your prayers:
1. For continued health and strength
2. For more people to join RVA and their mission
3. For ease in renewing visas when that time comes

A Year in Review - 2025

The Lord has truly been faithful this past year. Not only in the happiness of winning a puzzle race or joy of a good chili, but also in the pictures that weren’t taken - the cries of lament or periods of uncertainty.

What springs to mind is words we’ve declared multiple times this year-

“All my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh I will sing of the goodness of God”

May we be continue to strive to be lights that shine the goodness and hope of Christ in 2026.
