We’re gearing up for Fall Fest 2026! 🍂🎃

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 17, from 12:00–3:00 PM for an afternoon of fall fun at LUMC!

It takes many helping hands to make Fall Fest a success, and we need YOU! We are looking for:

🍁 Volunteers to help throughout the event
🍁 Food donations
🍁 Lots of candy donations! 🍬

Stop by the Fall Fest table in the Narthex on Sunday to sign up to volunteer or donate food. Candy donations can also be dropped off at the table.

🌿 A Word for Your Week 🌿

Getting Even

When someone hurts, deceives, or disappoints us, getting even can feel justified. But God calls us to respond differently.

Choosing kindness does not mean pretending the hurt never happened. It means refusing to let another person’s actions determine who we become. With God’s help, we can choose peace, extend grace, and overcome evil with good.

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
Romans 12:21

See you Sunday at Lampeter UMC! 💚

This Sunday, Pastor John will preach at both services and share a message titled “What Are You Doing Here?” based on 1 Kings 19:2–16.

When we are struggling mentally, physically, or emotionally, it can be easy to expect the worst and forget the many times God has carried us through difficult circumstances before. This Sunday, we’ll explore how God’s question to Elijah can help us examine our own mindset and choose hopefulness instead of hopelessness.

Come as you are and worship with us:

⛪ Traditional Service at 8:00 AM
📖 Adult Sunday School from 9:15–10:15 AM
🎶 Contemporary Service at 10:30 AM

Nursery care is available during both services, and Junior Church for children in kindergarten through fifth grade is offered during the 10:30 service.

This week, we are shining the spotlight on LUMC’s 2nd Friday Ministry! 💚

2nd Friday was created to provide a welcoming space where members of our church and community can come together, meet new people, build relationships, and simply enjoy time with one another.

Held on the second Friday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, every gathering features a different theme or activity. Past events have included:

🎲 Table games
🎵 Music bingo
🧠 Trivia
🎬 Movie nights
🐐 Special family activities
🍿 Food and refreshments

Best of all, 2nd Friday is free and open to everyone! Whether you come with family, bring a friend, or arrive on your own, you will find a warm welcome waiting for you.

We are grateful for the volunteers who make these evenings possible and help create a place where friendships can grow and our community can come together.

This month, we’re excited to welcome Midst the Noise for an evening filled with live music, delicious food, fun, and fellowship, and it’s all completely FREE!

Join us for our Free Community Meal at Lampeter UMC on Wednesday, September 2, from 5:00–6:30 PM.

On the menu:

Salisbury steak
Mashed potatoes
Veggies
Dessert and a drink

The meal is completely free, and everyone is welcome! Come as you are, bring a friend, and enjoy a warm meal and time together with members of our community.
