“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” — Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)
This past weekend was full—busy in every sense of the word. Derek had two gigs, and I’ve been running at full speed for weeks. We were tired, stretched thin, and feeling the weight of everything we needed to accomplish.
Somewhere in the middle of it all, while driving to yet another commitment, a simple but powerful thought settled in my heart:
God is already there.
He isn’t waiting at the end of our week, hoping we make it through. He’s already present in every moment we’re worried about. The event you’re anxious over? He’s there. The conversation you’re dreading? He’s already in it. The unknowns that feel overwhelming? He’s gone before you.
Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that His thoughts toward us are filled with peace—not harm—and that He has already prepared a future with purpose. That means nothing ahead of us is a surprise to Him.
God is not only the God of our past and present—He is fully present in our future.
So this week, instead of carrying the weight of what’s ahead, rest in this truth: you are not walking into anything alone. Shift your focus from your worries to the One who has already gone before you.
And take a breath—because where you’re going, He’s already there.
