💊💭People are quick to express disappointment over , but what about ? Is this even a thing? While I recognize that church hurt is a genuine issue, I also feel that it has sometimes become a one-sided narrative used to both manipulate and avoid taking responsibility for one’s own actions or behaviors.
Here’s an unpopular opinion: pastors’ hurt is 10 times worse; we just can't say it. What is Pastoral hurt?
🚯 When you leave and trash the very place that offered you counsel, opportunities, and even financial support.
🌪️ When you stir up discord and division within the congregation.
👉🏽 When you criticize everything but serve nowhere.
🔄 When you like, comment, and share other ministries but never support the church you call home.
🍼 When you refuse to grow up.
🚩 When you stay in fellowship with someone who has knowingly and openly dishonored your church and pastor.
👨👩👧👦 When you don't consider that the pastor’s first ministry is their family.
♥️ When the grace you desire is not the grace you extend.
🤦🏾♂️ When you skip important days like an anniversary or pastor appreciation day, yet expect others to show up for you.
🥴 When you compare your current pastor or church to your past ones.
☎️ When your relationships lack mutual give-and-take. You expect people to check on you, but you never check on them.
🦥 When you post subliminal messages about the church, it not only distracts but also kills momentum.
🤔 When you don't take part in church initiatives, like food drives, outreach endeavors, or capital campaigns.
😡 When you're mean to people your pastor loves.
🤥 When you always have an excuse for not being present.
🎤 When you want the mic but not the burden.
🚶🏽♂️When you promised to be there, yet still walk away.
🗣When you allow outside voices to pastor you more than us.
🙏🏾 Pray for your pastor.
