If you've always wanted to grow in your understanding and practice of prayer, you'll have an opportunity to do just that starting Wednesday, September 16th, from 5:30-6:30 PM at First Methodist Lamesa. Tips for adding the practice of sabbath to your life.

Pick a day each week to...
1. Remind yourself that your value comes from the price Christ paid on the cross, not the work you do
2. Begin your sabbath day by connecting with God through silence, scripture reading, and/or prayer
3. Figure out what restores you: napping, mountain biking, hiking, lawn work, cooking, and commit to doing those things on your sabbath.
4. Prioritize time spent with friends and family
5. Put it on the calendar and remember sabbath is a gift
6. Be willing to say no
7. If you can’t commit to 24 hours, begin with 12.
