As Egypt's governor, Joseph held absolute power and every right to demand immediate vengeance against the brothers who betrayed him. Instead, he demonstrated true makrothumia—long-suffering patience. Rather than rushing to crush them, he held back his wrath, absorbing the pain and choosing a path of grace that aimed at their repentance and reconciliation. That is what holiness and justice look like when fueled by a heart to redeem.

What a powerful reminder of how God deals with us: patient, slow to anger, and withholding the judgment we deserve to give us space to turn home.

Holding the weight of judgment in His hands, Jesus doesn't rush to crush our rebellion; instead, He stays His hand, offering mercy and space for repentance. In the same way Joseph looked upon the brothers who betrayed him, Christ looks at us—possessing every right to execute final sentence, yet choosing patience. He delays judgment not to overlook our sin, but to grant us the grace to turn around. What a Savior, whose holiness and justice are matched by His deep heart to redeem.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Denzel Gordon on Wednesday, September 2nd.

Living Hope will host a Celebration of Life service to honor Denzel’s memory on Monday, September 7th, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Following the service, a consolation meal will be provided for the family at 12:00 PM.

Please keep the Gordon family in your prayers during this time of grief.

Stop looking for God in a ZIP code.

When Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well, He completely dismantled the idea that God is locked inside a specific building, mountain, or holy city. The era of geographical shrines and empty religious routine is over.

Because of Christ, true worship isn't about where you are or what kind of production you can manufacture—it’s about a raw, authentic connection driven by the Holy Spirit and anchored in the living Truth. You don't have to travel to a sacred site to find Him; if you're in Christ, you carry the temple with you.

Let's drop the spectacle, strip away the pretense, and worship in spirit and truth today.
