High Plains Fellowship of Lamar We exist to proclaim to all people the hope and supremacy of Christ to God's glory (3) Man is God's ultimate creation created in His image.

We believe (1) that the Bible is the true Word of God to man, and as such, is without error and the ultimate authority. (2) The all-powerful eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Man disobeyed God and as a result fell from innocence as lived in the Garden of Eden. Man is now at enmity with God. Man's relationship with God can only be restored through saving

faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ and His work on the cross. (4) Salvation is freely offered to man through Christ who took our sin upon Himself so that all who will might be saved.

The account of one of the greatest "battles" of all time is found in 1 Samuel 17. It is the account of David and Goliath. Is this about a boy facing his giants? Is it about King Saul and his army being frightened into immobility? Is it about having enough faith and you can do anything? No. None of the above. It is ultimately about God.

In 1 Samuel 17:31-40 we see David is called before King Saul because the king had heard of David's questioning the soldiers about Goliath. David was distraught because Goliath was defying the army of the living God and he had a solution to the problem! The solution? Fight Goliath, himself, in what would be a duel to the death.
