NO BIBLE STUDY SUN 5/31 - FELLOWSHIP BRUNCH AFTER 10:15 AM SERVICE

We're expecting these cooking containers to multiply overnight and then for these and all the rest to be filled with delicious brunch items - thanks to the "mad skills" of our members.

Then during our brunch, Jaleen Robinson, clinical director of the Pregnancy Help Clinic in Clarksville, will be speaking to us about the Clinic's great work for moms and moms-to-be in need.

You are welcome to join us!

So, we were going to put the Athanasian Creed on the sign ... but quickly ran out of room. Guess we'll just confess it during the service tomorrow as we mark Holy Trinity Sunday. Remember - NO Bible Study tomorrow, service at its regular time of 10:15, and then our Fellowship Brunch following the service. Come hungry (you can also bring something tasty you'd like to share) and bring a hungry friend!

We’ll be looking at the book of Ruth tonight in our Wednesday Bible study. How does this Old Testament woman — who is from the country of Moab, not Israel — become significant in the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ? Come join us - light meal at 5 PM, Bible study at 6 PM!

Appointed prayer of the day - the day before we celebrate Sunday, May 24th as Pentecost:

Almighty and ever-living God, You fulfilled Your promise by sending the gift of the Holy Spirit to unite disciples of all nations in the cross and resurrection of Your Son, Jesus Christ. By the preaching of the Gospel spread this gift to the ends of the earth; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

This Sunday, May 10th - we are doubly blessed!

We give thanks to God for giving us loving, caring mothers as we celebrate Mothers' Day!

We also give thanks to Him for one of the blessed outcomes of faithful mothering/parenting: Jill and Aaron Lange's son Carter graduates from Arkansas Tech this afternoon, May 9th, and their son Parker graduates from Clarksville High School on Friday, May 15th. Congratulations to both of these fine young Christian men, and we pray God's richest blessings on their future endeavors!

And here you thought “NO KINGS” was a modern thing! Come join us tonight, Wednesday, May 6th - light meal at 5 PM, Bible study at 6 PM - and learn more about what it was like for the 12 tribes of Israel in those times. (That “everyone did what he thought was right” sure rings pretty true today, no?)

Our sign for this week is taken from our Introit ("entrance") psalm for this coming Sunday, the Fifth Sunday of Easter. As we continue to reflect on and rejoice in all that our Savior, Jesus, did and DOES for us through His life, death and resurrection - we can't help but want to sing praises to Him!

Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the godly!

I will extol you, O LORD, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me.

O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.

O LORD, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.

Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name.

For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.

Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the godly!

(Ps 30:1-5; antiphon: Ps 149:1, ESV)
