Pastor Mark Cummins comes from a lineage of ministers. His grandfather, Reverend Clyde Davis, was a powerful preacher in the Bible belt, having since gone to be with the Lord. There were two things Pastor remembers the most about his grandfather. Grandpa was known for driving along the road down in the Ozarks, stopping that old Ford truck of his, and saying, "Now that’s a great place to pray". The
re Grandpa would kneel, praying and interceding for the lost. The other thing Pastor remembers is the last thing Grandpa said to him before he died. He said, "Mark, always remember Jesus!" and he has ever since. Pastor’s father, Reverend Dester Cummins, has been in ministry for over fifty years. He has served as an evangelist, Pastor, and missionary. By his side over his time in ministry, is his wife Barbara, who is an incredible musician. There is no question about it; she knows how to "tickle the ivories". The Cummins family, while growing up was an evangelistic family. They would preach, sing, and minister as a family throughout the mid-west for many years. Their goal was to spread the gospel to a lost and dying world. Ministry back then was simply put, “if not us, who?”, and “if not now, when?”
Pastor attended Indiana University in South Bend for two years. After college, he attended Dr. Lester Sumrall’s school of Ministry, training for an additional three years. Following his training, he received his licensed credentials. He was hired as youth Pastor of Abundant Life Outreach Center in Eagle River Wisconsin, and built the youth program from four teens to over fifty in three years. Following his young Pastoring years, He and his wife Nicole pioneered Word of Faith Church in Park Falls Wisconsin. They Pastored there for 14 years. The Lord spoke to him to move the ministry to Lamar Mo. And with the boards approval and the endorsement of His Pastor Dr. Mark T. Barclay, they traveled to Lamar Mo in May of 2014 and continued the Ministry and started a new church with the same corporation Word of Faith Church Inc., but called the Church Living Word Church (DBA). Pastor Cummins have been in the Ministry his whole life. They have a big vision for southern Missouri, and are seeing a church growing and a people who are hungry. He's licensed through Mark Barclay Ministries, with Doctor Mark T. Barclay as his pastor since 2001. Pastor Mark believes that all men should be held accountable. We should always be connected to someone else to glean wisdom from. Pastor Cummins is known as a man that stays clean and lives it every day. He's a man of great conviction and prayer.
