Dear Church Family,

As we conclude our September–May season, I want to express my heartfelt thanks for a blessed and encouraging first year back holding services at the Lakewood Estonian Church. By God’s grace, we have grown to 50 members—a beautiful sign of renewed energy, unity, and hope within our congregation. Your presence, prayers, and steadfast support have made this year a true gift and a testament to God’s faithfulness.

In light of our final service of the season falling on Memorial Day weekend, the church has decided to cancel the service. We pray this gives everyone time for rest, remembrance, and time with loved ones.

We now enter our summer pause, and we look forward with joy to gathering again for our first service in September. Until then, may this season be one of joy, peace, and continued blessing for you and your families.

You are warmly invited to join us for a festive Easter Brunch at Lakewoodi Eesti Maja immediately following the Easter Service at Lakewoodi Eesti Kirik.

🕛 Doors open: 12:00 p.m.
🍽️ Brunch served: 1:30 p.m.
💵 Adults: $20 (includes brunch + a complimentary mimosa or beer)
🧒 Children: Free

Don’t forget to bring a colored Easter egg for the traditional Estonian Easter Egg Tapping Competition—may the strongest hard‑boiled egg win!

Today at Mass, Vikaar Ivan shared a heartfelt gesture of unity, presenting the congregation with a greeting from Governor Mikie Sherrill of New Jersey, commemorating Estonia's 108th Independence Day, and with his blessing, church board leaders Tooni Männik and Ingrid Kangur accepted the letter on behalf of the congregation, to be cherished and displayed within the parish. foto: V. The church received a warm greeting from the Governor of the State of New Jersey, Mikie Sherrill in celebration of Estonian Independence Day. She praised the resilience of the Estonian people, the enduring commitment to freedom since 1918, and the meaningful cultural and civic contributions of Estonian Americans here in the Garden State.

The governor also reaffirmed the strong friendship between Estonia and the United States and wished our community a memorable celebration. We are thankful for this recognition as we honor our heritage, our faith, and the gift of vabadus.
