🌱 GOOD SOIL — EPISODE 02

For 20 years, we’ve watched God cultivate something beautiful at New Life Church.

What looked like rocky soil, God saw as fertile ground. Seeds were planted, watered, and gardens grew in unlikely places.

This is the story of what God has done and continues to do in the good soil at New Life Church.

And this garden is still growing! Stay tuned for episode 03 of GOOD SOIL. 🌱

Join us tomorrow for FAMILY SUNDAY! 🎉

On Family Sunday, children ages 3-11 will join their families upstairs and together we’ll worship, hear an engaging message, and have fun as ONE body! What a beautiful chance to remember that we are all created in the image of God and we all need one another.

Joining us, we’re excited to announce Charlene & Miguel Ocasio, Kids Pastor & Elder from House of Praise, as our special guest speakers! They’ve been preparing an amazing message for all ages, and we can’t wait to hear!

PLUS, we have a special surprise for our kids at the end… 👀🔦

🌱 GOOD SOIL — EPISODE 01

God grows gardens in unlikely places.

Lakewood was once known as a preacher’s graveyard — a place where churches came to die.

But God saw something different.

When our senior pastors Bob & Yolanda Kistemaker followed the Lord’s call to Lakewood, they stepped onto ground that many had counted out. Yet what once looked like a graveyard, God began growing into a garden.

Because God grows gardens in unlikely places.

Today, we’re watching lives change, families grow, faith take root, and new life continue to spring up.

New Life Church is GOOD SOIL.

Join us over the next few weeks as we uncover the story of the Good Soil at New Life Church and all that God has done over the last 20 years.

TOMORROW! 🙌🎉 We’re so excited to welcome back our good friend, Nobles Darby, as a guest speaker for both services!

Nobles serves as Chaplain for the Cleveland Browns and Co-Chaplain for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and is an incredible man of God, husband, and loving father.

We know God has something special in store for us tomorrow, and we can’t wait to hear the word he’s bringing! Come expectant and bring a friend! 🔥

After 20 years of faithful leadership, Pastor Bob and Yolanda are entering a new season and will be passing the baton of senior leadership in October of 2026. 🤝

When Pastor Bob and Yolanda first came to this city, Lakewood was considered a “preacher’s graveyard” and “a place where churches go to die”. Yet, through the faithfulness of the Lord and their obedience to His calling, this graveyard is a garden now. 🪦💐

We are deeply grateful for the spiritual foundation they have built through their sacrificial and Christ-centered service. This transition has been prayerfully discerned by our elders over several years, and we believe God has been preparing Jose and Amanda Rivera for this next step in the life of our church! 🎉

In the months ahead, we will take time together to reflect and celebrate the past 20 years of God’s faithfulness. We’re so grateful to honor the legacy that has been built at New Life, while we look to the future of where God is leading us. Join us for the journey! ❤️

Family! 😭 We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to all who contributed towards our new church van! 🙌

Thanks to your incredible generosity and the faithfulness of God, we have purchased a new van! This could only be done by your giving and we are so grateful. The new van will continue to be used to help our driving ministry transport guests to church on Sunday mornings and our youth on Friday nights! 💙
