Sunday Sermon Notes 6-7-26
I’m All In!
Acts 4:30 (KJV) By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. 31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. 32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any [of them] that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. 33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. 34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, 35 And laid [them] down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. 36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, [and] of the country of Cyprus, 37 Having land, sold [it], and brought the money, and laid [it] at the apostles' feet.
1. __________________________ Acts 4:31 “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost…”
The word “filled” means to be completely supplied, controlled, influenced, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Notice Luke emphasizes “all.” Everybody was filled. The Holy Spirit was not reserved for apostles.
Acts 2:17 (KJV) And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon ALL flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
A church can accomplish more when everyone receives the pour!
A church becomes transformational when everybody is filled.
Ask God daily for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit daily.
Ephesians 5:18 Amplified “Do not get drunk with wine, for that is wickedness (corruption, stupidity), but be filled with the [Holy] Spirit and constantly guided by Him.
“The Holy Spirit was not given for our enjoyment only but for God’s employment.” — J. Oswald Sanders

2. __________________________ Acts 4:32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any [of them] that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
The word unity in this context carries the idea of being together in mind, purpose, affection, and spiritual direction.
“One heart” → shared inner devotion and love
“One soul” → shared life, values, and spiritual alignment
This is Spirit-produced agreement, not personality or preference agreement.
John 17:21 — Jesus prayed that believers “may be one… that the world may believe.”
Ephesians 4:3 (NLT) Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.
Unity became the atmosphere where revival thrives, lives are transformed and God is glorified.
3. __________________________ Acts 4:31 “They spake the word of God with boldness.”
Everybody became a witness. Everybody became engaged.
The Spirit turned attenders into ambassadors. The Spirit turned church members into missionaries.
“Every Christian is either a missionary or an imposter.” Charles Spurgeon
Evangelism is not optional, it is identity-level Christianity. Acts 1:8
Romans 10:14 (NLT) But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?
“The church is only alive when it is carrying the Gospel to others.” — Francis Chan

When everybody gets filled, nobody gets forgotten!
