GCU Campus Ministry

GCU Campus Ministry The Office of Campus Ministry serves the spiritual needs of the entire Georgian Court University Community. Come grow your faith and meet new friends!

The Office of Campus Ministry is located in the Gatekeeper’s Lodge just inside the 7th Street Gate. The office supports the spiritual growth of all members of the university community. Our vision of ministry calls us to:

• Gather a vibrant faith community for worship, prayer and reflection.
• Celebrate the Catholic Christian faith of our sponsors, the Sisters of Mercy.
• Cultivate faith-

filled leaders who have the capacity to change the world for the better.
• Animate the GCU community to live our Mercy identity through compassionate service and advocacy for justice. Campus ministry’s staff is dedicated to serving the entire academic community including students, faculty and staff as well as GCU’s offices, departments and other campus organizations. The chaplains and campus ministers are available to confidentially discuss personal, religious, or moral concerns. The office collaboratively plans and coordinates a wide range of spiritual programs such as retreats, interfaith experiences, service projects, social justice programs and social activities. All faiths are welcomed and encouraged to participate. The Office of Campus Ministry also provides for the sacramental life of the community. Eucharistic liturgies are celebrated most weekdays and on Sunday evenings. Provision is made for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) and Confirmation. The office coordinates arrangements for the weddings of students and alumni desiring use of the Chapel.

Hello, friends of GCU Campus Ministry,

It's that time of year again and we are doing our back-to-school drive for our friends at Interfaith Hospitality and Providence House. We are in need of backpacks (specifically) and other back-to-school items!

Times are tough right now, and our partner agencies really need our help. They have requested 35 backpacks each!

If you can help, please consider ordering a backpack via amazon and sending your donation to Georgian Court University's Campus Ministry office. Beneath is an amazon link where you can purchase one and it will be sent straight to our office!
https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/35QCHRZ1Y6OQ?ref_=wl_share

Or you can drop them off right in any of the bins in Mercy, Jeffries or Raymond Hall!

Thank you so much and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to message me.

We know times are tough and have only gotten tougher during the pandemic. We’ve gotchu!

If you or anyone else is in need of food please feel free to swing by to the mobile food pantry on these dates.

When the mobile food pantry isn’t here you can also always put an order through Julian’s Cupboard!

Hello GCU Community,

We have two bits of news for you!

First, the food pantry is open again and if you'd like to place an order, you can do so here (https://gcu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cBKCDdE4tnL7Tox)
We are here to support any student in need of food assistance.

Second, as we welcome 2022, the GCU Student Food Pantry took "new year, new me" to a whole new level. We are pleased to announce that the food pantry has been officially renamed the “Julian Tao Knipper Food Pantry at Georgian Court University.” Henceforth, this service will be affectionately known as "Julian's Cupboard: The Student Food Pantry at Georgian Court." The new name honors the late, beloved grandson of Deacon Jim and Teresa Knipper.

We are grateful to the Knipper family for all of their support for Georgian Court University and our Julian's Cupboard. Deacon Jim is a former trustee and graduate of GCU receiving his Master’s Degree in Theology in 2015 and an Honorary Degree in 2017.”

We can't wait to see you all when you return to campus!

We wish our community much joy, good health, and many blessings during the first night of the festival of lights! May each candle ignited on the menorah shine bright, and bring peace as we celebrate perseverance during difficult times.

Chag Urim Sameach! (Happy festival of lights.)

(Blessed are You, Adonai our God, Sovereign of all, who has kept us alive, sustained us, and brought us to this season.)
