Journey Family & Friends,

Jesus’s public ministry was inaugurated after he was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. His final directive to his disciples at the end of his earthly mission was to go, make disciples, and baptize them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. As the Good News of the Kingdom of God spread throughout the Roman empire after Pentecost, every new believer was baptized (see the book of Acts).
Baptism is an affirmation to the believer and a testament to others, their sins have been washed away by the sacrifice of Christ and they now belong to the family of God through their union with Christ.
This Sunday we are going to move the final part of our worship service to the VanderBaan residence to baptize and celebrate with all who believe and are baptized.
• If you wish to be baptized on Sunday, please email me at [email protected] for some instructions on preparing for baptism.
• If you were baptized as an infant or child, and aren’t sure if it “counts,” email me with contact information, and we can discuss this.
• If you have been baptized, come to be reminded again of your own cleansing by Christ and union with Christ, and celebrate this milestone with those receiving baptism.
