Mighty Men’s Bible Study
07.18.2026

2 Samuel 23:9-10
9 And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away: 10 He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.

Study of Eleazar.
He didn’t run before the battle. While others fled for fear of the enemy, Eleazar did not.
He didn’t rest during the battle - hand was weary, and clave to the sword.
He didn’t retreat from the battle. Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.
He defended the righteous in battle. - Stand fast when things are against you.

We also discussed about the duties of a man to provide for his family.

John 5:8
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

The rising required obedience.
The warring of the bed required responsibility.
The walking required vision.

God does not call you to rise without placing strength beneath your feet.
He does not command you to walk without showing you the road.
He does not awaken you without giving you a reason to get up.

Obedience to Christ is where the vision takes place.

Happy Sunday!

Men’s Bible study was a great time with some great brothers!

Title
Mighty Men Bible Study:
This week focused on Jashobeam - whose name means “The Wise Spearman”. He slew 800 then 300 men in battle for the Lord’s army. He was devoted to God and King David and served him his entire kingship. He was chief among captains and was know for his discernment and discipline. We need to have these characters to be Mighty Men of God. Discipline to follow orders, discipline to stand in battle, discipline to put others first.

We also dealt with being a Mighty Man of God in our life for our family. When a man steps into his calling, the whole family benefits. God expects a man to provide, food, clothing and shelter for his loved ones. Food - nourishment to strengthen and feed the soul, Clothing - covering, identity, protection and honor, Shelter - More than walls, but intimacy and safety for his family. The calling of every man who belongs to God is the calling of a shepherd. We ended the study with: Joshua 1:9 (KJV)
9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

We had a great mens Bible Study yesterday, it’s always a blessing to be with these brothers in Christ!

Absolute Victory

Colossians 2:14-15 (KJV)
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

1. Victory in Jesus

What Absolute victory looks like in our lives.

You don’t overcome by fighting harder. You overcome by standing where He already won. What you face is loud, not sovereign. God didn’t leave you a war to win, He left you a victory to walk in. The enemy lost the moment Jesus said, “It is finished.”

We win by standing in the Victory Christ has already won.

All we have to do is hold the line.
