A huge thank you to FAITH and Battle Branch Baptist Church for your generous donation of backpacks to the men of Freedom Ministries Lighthouse.

Your kindness is more than just providing backpacks—it is a reminder that these men are not forgotten. Each backpack represents love, encouragement, and the support of a community that believes people can be restored through the grace of God.

Many of the men who come through our doors are rebuilding their lives one day at a time. They arrive carrying burdens from their past, but because of churches and ministries like yours, they are reminded that there is hope for their future.

We are incredibly thankful for a community that continues to stand beside us in our mission of sharing love, acceptance, and forgiveness. Your generosity reflects the heart of Christ and demonstrates what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

"Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." — Galatians 6:9

Thank you, FAITH and Battle Branch Baptist Church, for investing in these men and helping us shine the light of Christ in our community. We are truly blessed and grateful for your partnership.

We celebrate a tremendous milestone as Kenneth Helton graduates from Freedom Ministries Lighthouse!

It has been an honor and a privilege to watch Kenneth's journey over the past year. We have seen him not only overcome obstacles and grow in recovery, but most importantly, surrender his life to Jesus Christ and begin walking in the plans and purpose God has for him.

What makes this day so special is not simply completing a program—it's witnessing a transformed life. We've watched God restore hope, build character, strengthen faith, and reveal His calling. Kenneth has remained faithful through challenges, trusted God's process, and continued moving forward one step at a time.

The Bible says in Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

Long before Kenneth ever came to the Lighthouse, before the struggles, before the mistakes, before the victories, God already knew him. God had a plan, a purpose, and a future for his life.

We celebrate not just where Kenneth has been, but where God is leading him. We are proud of the man he has become and excited to see what the Lord continues to do in his life as he enters the next season through our Graduate Program.

Congratulations, Kenneth! Keep your eyes on Jesus, keep walking in faith, and never forget that the same God who brought you this far will be faithful to complete the work He started in you.

You’re Invited to a Special Graduation Celebration

Join us on Saturday, May 23rd at 4:00 PM as we celebrate an incredible accomplishment here at Freedom Ministries Lighthouse.

One of our residents has faithfully put in the hard work, surrendered his life to Christ, and found healing, restoration, and hope through this journey of recovery. We believe this is more than graduation from a program — it is a testimony of God’s grace, redemption, and transforming power.

“Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy.” — Psalm 126:5

We would love for our community, friends, and family to come celebrate with us, encourage him, and witness what God is doing through love, acceptance, and forgiveness.

After the ceremony, we will enjoy a time of food and fellowship together. Please bring a side dish and/or dessert if you would like to contribute.

Come celebrate freedom, recovery, and the goodness of God with us.

What an incredible spring camping trip with the men. A weekend filled with fellowship, fishing, laughter, good food, campfires, and moments to simply reset and breathe in the goodness of God. There’s something powerful about stepping away from the noise of life and being reminded of the peace that can only come from the Lord.

We are beyond thankful for these beautiful mountains we get to call home. God’s creation has a way of speaking to us, bringing healing, clarity, and gratitude. Watching these men laugh, connect, and grow together is a reminder that recovery is more than freedom from addiction — it’s learning how to truly live again.

Thankful for brotherhood.
Thankful for grace.
Thankful for new memories.
Thankful for another chance.

“Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy.” — Psalm 126:5

Happy Birthday, Dan Crane!

Today we celebrate not just a birthday, but a man called by God to serve, lead, and pour into the lives of others every single day.

Dan, we love you and truly appreciate all that you do for Freedom Ministries Lighthouse. Your heart for recovery, your obedience to God’s calling, and your commitment to these men does not go unnoticed. Lives are being changed because you said “yes” to the call.

We are so thankful for your leadership, your sacrifice, and the example you set. You’ve been a vessel that God continues to use to bring hope, healing, and restoration.

We pray this year brings you strength, joy, and continued vision as you walk in your purpose.

Tonight was a powerful night at Freedom Ministries Lighthouse.

We celebrated the graduation of two incredible men, Jethro and Toby, and we give ALL the glory to God for the transformation we have witnessed in their lives.

What we saw tonight is something that only God can do. Lives that were once broken are now being rebuilt. Hearts that once carried pain are now filled with hope, purpose, and faith. This is what happens when men surrender their lives to Christ and commit themselves to the recovery process.

The Lighthouse was built on the foundation of love, acceptance, and forgiveness. Every man who walks through these doors is given the opportunity to start again, to grow spiritually, and to become the man God created him to be.

We are also incredibly thankful for the community that stands behind these men and supports their journey.

A special thank you to McDonald's Jessica Rojas, Trinity Property Services, and Judy Brookshire for giving these men opportunities to work, rebuild their lives, and walk forward with dignity and purpose.

We are deeply grateful for the churches that have opened their doors and their hearts to our residents. Thank you to Clayton Church of God, North Clayton Church with MarvinandKayla Reid, Philip Brown and all your leadership, encouragement, and the incredible support from your church families.

Recovery is not something that happens alone. It takes faith, community, accountability, and love. Tonight was a reminder that when those things come together, miracles happen.

To everyone who supports this ministry, prays for these men, hires them, encourages them, and walks beside them — thank you. Your support helps make transformation possible.

And to Jethro and Toby — we are proud of you. This is just the beginning of what God is going to do in your lives.

To God be the glory.

Today we celebrate 7 years of Freedom Ministries Lighthouse Men’s campus.

Freedom Ministries Lighthouse began in 2016 as a simple Saturday night service. Our founders, Joel and Aleta Wi******er, stepped out in faith with a desire to bring hope, recovery, and the love of Jesus to our community. What started as a small step of faith has grown into a ministry that has been blessed to serve many individuals and families throughout Rabun County. We are grateful to be part of the recovery efforts that have taken place in our community over the past decade and thankful for every life that has been touched along the way.

This obedience turned into our first men’s recovery home with six beds in March 2019.

Today, God has continued to grow this mission in ways we could have never imagined.

Where we are today:

• Three men’s homes with 17 beds (2025)
• One additional men’s home currently under construction
• Women of Worth Recovery (WOW) opening April 2026
• 131 residents served since opening
• 15 residents currently in the program

What started with just two employees has grown to six staff members and many incredible volunteers who serve faithfully every day.

Resident accomplishments:

• 138 full-time jobs obtained
• 17 driver’s licenses earned
• 12 completed DUI school
• 15 residents obtained vehicles
• 4 residents purchased homes
• 10 regained custody of their children
• 41 professions of faith in Jesus
• 20 baptisms
• 36 outpatient clients served
• 68% graduate success rate for long term sobriety meaning multiple years of sobriety.

We are incredibly grateful for every supporter, volunteer, church, business, and community member who has stood beside us.

Most of all, we thank God, because every changed life is a reminder that freedom is possible. This isnt surface level work. Our hearts are to see transformed lives.

Love. Acceptance. Forgiveness.

John “Harvey” Conner was more than a pastor. He was a pillar.

Harvey was one of the founding board members of Freedom Ministries Lighthouse. He believed in the vision when it was just faith and a dream. He stood behind it with prayer, wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering support.

He loved people — especially the broken, the overlooked, and the ones trying to find their way back to God. That’s what made him such a powerful part of this ministry. He understood redemption. He believed in restoration. He believed lives could change.

And he didn’t just preach it — he lived it.

He was joy. He was laughter. He was “Whoopee!” when he caught a fish. He was a storyteller, a shepherd, a prayer warrior, and the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation.

Freedom Ministries Lighthouse is stronger because of the foundation men like Harvey helped lay. His fingerprints are on this ministry. His prayers are woven into its walls. His faith helped carry it forward.

While our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing he heard the words he lived for:

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”

We will carry the torch.
We will keep loving people.
We will keep pointing them to Jesus.
And we will honor the legacy you helped build.

We love you, Pastor Harvey.

Graduation Celebration – Freedom Ministries Lighthouse

On March 7th at 4:00 PM, we will be celebrating TWO incredible men as they graduate from Freedom Ministries Lighthouse!

This is such a special and sacred time. These men have put in the hard work, faced the hard truths, surrendered to the process, and most importantly — allowed the Lord to carry them every step of the way. What God has done in their lives is powerful, and their testimonies will glorify Him.

At Lighthouse, we are built on love, acceptance, and forgiveness. We believe no one is too far gone, no story is too broken, and no life is beyond redemption. Jesus still restores. He still heals. He still sets captives free.

This event is open to the community, and we would LOVE for you to come be part of it. Come hear their testimonies of transformation and hope.

We’ll also have powerful worship — you won’t want to miss it!

After the ceremony, we will share a meal together with the men and their families. Please bring a side dish or a dessert and come ready to celebrate what the Lord has done.
