Missionary Monday🌱

What does serving as a senior missionary from home look like?

Sister Allen of the Lakeland Stake is serving a two-year mission with FamilySearch as part of the Virtual Records Operations Center. From home, she works on online projects, participates in zone meetings, and helps train others who are learning how to use FamilySearch.

As she works to determine whether two FamilySearch profiles are a match, Sister Allen relies on the guidance of the Holy Ghost.

“When I forget to pray, I realize it later in the day when I get stuck on a record. Being led by the Spirit makes a huge difference.”

Missionary service can happen anywhere—even from home. Through technology, faith, and the Spirit, senior missionaries like Sister Allen are helping connect generations and further the Lord’s work.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We invite all members and friends to participate in Stake Conference for the Lakeland Florida Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27, 2026. Elder Massimo De Feo of the Seventy, and United States Southeast Area President, will preside at all sessions of the conference.

All sessions will be held at the Lakeland Stake Center (5850 Lakeland Highlands Road, Lakeland, Florida 33813). Those who are not able to attend in person may view the general sessions of conference from home using the links found at www.LakelandFloridaStake.com. Spanish and Creole translation will be available. A combined stake women’s choir will perform during the Sunday General Session.

The following sessions of conference will be held:

• A Stake Leadership Meeting on Saturday, September 26 at 4:00pm. All stake, ward, and branch priesthood AND organization leaders are invited to attend. This includes full presidencies and advisers. Light refreshments for those attending the Leadership Meeting will be provided at the conclusion.

• An Adult Session on Saturday, September 26 at 6:00pm for ALL members and friends ages 18 and older.

• A General Session of Stake Conference on Sunday, September 27 at 10:00am for ALL members and friends.

We also invite all members and friends to join us during Lakeland Stake Temple Days, the week of September 15-19. During this week we encourage you to study and learn more about temple covenants and, where possible, participate in temple ordinances at the Fort Lauderdale Florida Temple.

We testify that Jesus Christ lives and is the Savior of the world! We look forward to joining you as we worship Him together at Stake Conference.

Sunday Schedule for Primary🌼

Here is the new simple format for Sunday Primary meetings designed to help children learn about Jesus Christ, from ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

🙏 5 minutes — Prayer, scripture or article of faith, talk or testimony
🎶 20 minutes — Singing time
➡️ 5 minutes — Transition to classes
📖 25 minutes — Come, Follow Me classes

In wards with many children, Primary may be divided into two groups, with one group attending classes while the other participates in singing time, and then switching.

We’re grateful for the Primary leaders and teachers who help our children learn the gospel and strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ each week. 💛

Missionary Monday🌱

Elder McClaws, serving in the Brazil Porto Alegre South Mission, recently shared his thoughts on missionary life and what it means to give your life to the Lord.

The Savior promises us that when we are willing to give everything to Him:

“Whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.”
—Luke 9:24

When we put our lives in the Savior’s hands, He can make more out of them than we ever could on our own.

Stake Temple Days 🤍

The Lakeland Florida Stake is invited to attend Stake Temple Days at the Fort Lauderdale Florida Temple, September 15–19 in preparation for Stake Conference.

Members are encouraged to go online at ChurchofJesusChrist.org⁠ to schedule your temple appointment.

New Members: Baptistry appointments are scheduled for Saturday, September 19 at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Bus transportation is available for those attending the temple for the first time.
