It was a great turnout for Shabbat Dinner Friday. Thanks to Tammy and her crew for preparing delicious chicken, salmon, green beans with almonds, and roasted carrots and potatoes. We had a full evening after dinner during services we had our board and officers installation and we had our featured guest speaker, LuAnn Mims from the Lakeland History and Culture Center (at the Lakeland Library.

Everyone enjoyed LuAnn's talk and surrounded her afterwards with lots of comments and questions. Thank you LuAnn! It was so great having you here! For those of you who have not visited this wonderful asset in our community, I will put out another post with more info for you. LuAnn also talked about Willi Wolfson's wonderful collection of ephemera and memorabilia including all his amazing scrapbooks that are now part of the History Collection. You can access all of it!

May is Jewish American Heritage Month, but plan ahead to next Friday, June 5 for a talk by LuAnn Mims of the Lakeland History & Culture Center at Temple Emanuel. Mims will present on the Wolfson Collection, which highlights Lakeland's first Jewish family.
