Sometimes in well-doing, we get weary.
We can get fed up, frustrated, or tired of hearing the call to lay down our lives and follow Jesus. And over time, we may start to back away.
But maybe the fire isn’t gone.
Maybe we moved away from it.
Jesus is still saying, “Follow Me.” Stay close. Keep your heart tender. Don’t back away from the place where God is refining you, strengthening you, and calling you deeper.
Don’t move away from the fire.

Sunday’s message reminded us that Jesus is inviting each of us into the ultimate adventure.
His invitation is not complicated: “Follow me.”

He says it to the person who feels ready, and He says it to the person who feels distant. He says it to the one who has drifted, the one who has been hurt or disappointed, and the one who has become apathetic or lukewarm.

Just like Matthew leaving the tax booth, following Jesus means stepping away from what is familiar and discovering a life of purpose, miracles, obedience, and love that we would never experience if we stayed where we were.

This week, leave behind guilt-ridden, rule-keeping spirituality and step into a wholehearted relationship with Jesus.

The invitation still stands: Follow me.
