“A Time for the Sword”… edition 18

A time for the Word of God. Sometime around 700 B.C. the prophet Isaiah delivered a message of judgement to Judah and the surrounding heathen nations. Isaiah also told of God’s salvation through the Messiah.

”The book of Isaiah is the first of the writings of the Prophets in the Bible; and Isaiah, the author, is generally considered to be the greatest prophet.”

In chapter 11, Isaiah speaks of a golden age to come (the Kingdom of Heaven). Judah had become a corrupt nation and desperately needed a revival of righteousness and faithfulness. The nation needed to turn from their selfishness and back to God for the good of all people. Isaiah speaks of the “new” to come, the Messiah…

Isaiah 10:33-34 NKJV

Behold, the LORD, The LORD of hosts, Will lop off the bough with terror; Those of high stature will be hewn down, And the haughty will be humbled.

He will cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, And Lebanon will fall by the Mighty One.

“A Time for the Sword” …edition 17

At the National Homecoming of TPMM last summer a main theme during our teachings was, “The Kingdom of God.” Indeed, The Kingdom of God is at hand… The Kingdom of God is here. We repent.

* “The kingdom of God is at hand” is a profound statement that Jesus Christ made during His earthly ministry, conveying a message of urgency, hope, and divine intervention. This declaration holds significant theological implications and invites believers to grasp the imminent reality of God’s reign.

In this New Year let us examine what Jesus had to say about the Kingdom of God. His teachings were centered on this topic, and the Kingdom of God is mentioned more than 80 times in the New Testament. This topic will be the focus of “A Time for the Sword” for the foreseeable future.

If you’ve been a frequest visitor to this page you’ll know that the title, “A Time for the Sword,” reflect on the words of the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 6:17. In that verse Paul writes that “the sword of the Spirit” is the word of God. I pray the topics and the discussion generated by these posts would accurately represent the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. In the Name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

All the Glory to God… Mission Complete!

I sincerely thank everyone who lifted us up in prayer for the 2000m in 48hr Devotion Ride! The thing about social media is you’ll never know exactly who is joining in on the prayers …but GOD knows, and your prayers are powerful. Those prayers were felt and they guided us down the road to a safe and successful journey. Thank you. Please know we were also praying for you.

So many things learned and so much could be shared. The most significant is how insignificant we are when we toil on our own. I see it written on our church sign and I can never forget it. The words “It’s All About Jesus.” It’s not just words.

There will always be a patch to earn, a certificate to hang up, or another road to ride. But, there’s got to be more to it. The Good News is that there is. There is a greater purpose. Praise God for that.

Home safe by the Grace of God Alone. Jonathan and I did pray our way, and our prayer mid-way was that God have mercy on us. Yes, our worldly goal is complete but His Grace, Mercy, and Love are never ending.

Sometimes we stretch ourselves to the limit just to realize once again that it’s not us, not about us, but it’s All God. It’s Him who carries us that really matters the most. Thank you Jesus. Thank you for everything. Amen.
