GLEANING MORE THAN FOOD - GROWING HEARTS FOR SERVICE AT UMT!

What a wonderful afternoon of fellowship, learning, and serving others at United Methodist Temple! A special thank you to Megan McEwen, Florida Program Coordinator for the Society of St. Andrew, for sharing how their ministry fights hunger, reduces food waste, and helps get fresh vegetables into the hands of our neighbors that need it.

These gatherings don't happen without some very special people! Thank you to Suzie Cornnell, our UMT Lunch & Learn Coordinator, for bringing it all together; and our own CGIS UMT Ministry Team for providing the food, desserts, serving the meals, helping setup, cleaning and Dianna and John Peronto, Jay Benningfield, Kay Sloan, Diane Poling and Melanie Pranno for all the helping hands that made the afternoon such a success!

Forming Methodists
Please join us for the first in a series of meetings beginning this Sunday (Sept. 13, 2026). Our group began as people who were forming into Methodists; we are now Methodists who are helping form the world through the teachings of Jesus Christ. But all denominations, believers, and non-believers are welcome to attend. We will meet the second and fourth Sunday of each month (with a few exceptions - see the website's calendar). We will be discussing how Christianity changed the world during the first 450 years of the Common Era from brutal Greco/Roman concepts of human dignity, family relationships, the value of labor, God vs gods, relationships with neighbors, death and eternity, and religious freedom (one concept for each two paired meetings). The meeting following, we will be discussing how our current generations view the same concepts and how we can and must redirect some of them closer to the teachings of Jesus.
We will be using several resources - both virtual and real-world - to discuss these concepts.
Bring your own lunch, drink, and Bible if you wish. We will meet in the conference room directly after worship services to eat and then begin our discussions around noon.

KidsPACK Community Packing Days

What: Packing weekend meal packs for students at our partnering schools
Time: 9am - 11am

Together we have an opportunity to make these mornings more than packing food - they can be a way for UMT to open our doors, meet our neighbors, and invite people to serve with us.Thank you all for helping make this partnership work!
