Family Encampment 2026 is in the books, and we're still smiling about it. 🏕️❤️

We asked our campers what stood out, and the same words kept showing up:

Fellowship. New friends. Singing around the campfire. Prayer. Meeting Christians from other churches and feeling the Church come together in one place.

One survey summed it up perfectly: "I loved the theme of camp... thankful to be a part of it all."

That's exactly what we hoped this weekend would be, families building community, one conversation and one campfire song at a time.

Thank you to everyone who came, sang loud, and showed up for each other. We're already looking forward to 2027 (Aug 12–15 — mark your calendars!). 📅

What an incredible summer at Delano Bay Christian Camp!

This summer, 146 campers joined us for four unforgettable weeks of camp:

Senior Teen Session (STS)
1st–3rd Grade Camp
Young Teen Session (YTS)
4th–6th Grade Camp

Each week had its own personality, its own challenges, and its own victories, but they all shared one purpose:

Who Is the Messiah?

Throughout the summer, our staff faithfully opened God's Word, helping campers discover who Jesus truly is and what it means to follow Him. We are thankful for every director, counselor, cook, nurse, teacher, song leader, volunteer, and supporter who made these weeks possible.

Most of all, we're grateful for each of our 146 campers. Thank you for spending part of your summer at Delano Bay—learning, worshiping, building friendships, and growing in your faith. We pray that the lessons learned here will continue to strengthen your walk with Christ long after camp has ended.

Although our youth camps have come to a close, the ministry of Delano Bay continues. Be on the lookout for this week's newsletter as we share more about this incredible summer and all that God is doing at DBCC.

As we celebrate everything God has done through this year's ministry, we're also looking ahead with excitement. Below are the 2027 dates for our camps and annual events. We hope you'll mark your calendars—we'd love to welcome you back to Delano Bay next year!

Today we relearned Justin Oden's song written at Delano Bay CC in July 2016, King of Kings.

What a week!

Last week we had the privilege of hosting the youth group from Sunset Church of Christ from Lubbock, Texas, who made Delano Bay Christian Camp their home base while serving throughout the Pacific Northwest.

While they were here, they poured countless hours into caring for DBCC. They helped restore our old pond, stained the lodge decks, moved kitchen supplies back to the Lodge, cleaned, and tackled project after project with incredible attitudes. No job was too big or too small, they simply jumped in wherever there was a need.

Of course, it wasn't all work! We also loved watching them enjoy DBCC the way it was meant to be enjoyed, gathering around the campfire for worship, playing games, laughing together, and building friendships that we pray will last a lifetime.

Mission trips are about more than checking projects off a list. They are about serving Christ, encouraging one another, and using the gifts God has given us to bless others.

To every student, sponsor, and leader who invested your time, energy, and hearts into serving here: thank you. Your work has made a lasting impact on DBCC and your encouragement was just as meaningful as the projects you completed. We are grateful that God brought you here and pray He continues to bless your ministry back home in Texas.

What a blessing the past several weeks have been at Delano Bay Christian Camp!

A huge THANK YOU to the Sojourners for the incredible impact they have made as we prepare for another summer of ministry. ❤️

They deep cleaned cabins, sewed new curtains, painted the well house, pressure washed throughout camp, built new storage solutions, installed Hardie Plank siding on Seabreeze, and tackled the massive job of preparing our Lodge kitchen for camp season.

But perhaps their greatest contribution wasn't found in any single project. It was the encouragement, fellowship, laughter, and servant hearts they brought with them each day.

Because of their dedication, Delano Bay is ready to welcome campers this summer, and countless lives will be blessed by the work they accomplished.

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men." Colossians 3:23

Thank you, Sojourners, for being the hands and feet of Christ. We are so grateful for you and can't wait to welcome you back next year! 🙏

Over the past several weeks, Delano Bay Christian Camp has been blessed by the incredible service of the Sojourners.

Their willingness to give their time, talents, and energy has made a tremendous impact on the camp as we prepare for another summer season of ministry.

From deep cleaning cabins and sewing new curtains to painting the well house, pressure washing around camp, building a new storage rack for the Sugar Shack, and installing Hardie Plank siding on Seabreeze, their work has touched nearly every corner of Delano Bay.

One of the largest projects was preparing the Lodge kitchen for summer camps. After equipment was returned from storage, the kitchen needed a complete cleaning before campers arrive. The Sojourners tackled this enormous task with enthusiasm and excellence, helping ensure that we are ready for the busy season ahead.

But beyond the projects themselves, they brought something even more valuable: encouragement, fellowship, and renewed excitement. Their servant hearts breathed new life into camp and reminded us what can be accomplished when Christians work together for a common purpose.

We are deeply grateful for every hour they invested, every skill they shared, and every act of service they performed. Delano Bay is a better place because of their efforts, and countless campers will be blessed by the work they completed.

"For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for His name in serving the saints, as you still do." Hebrews 6:10
