Being harassed by bullies seems to be in every layer of human society – from the highest offices of power to the local playground. Feeling helpless at the bombardment of harassment is a very human reality. In scripture today, Jesus saw the crowds, harassed and helpless – and he had compassion for them. So, what did Jesus do? Better yet, what do we do? This Sunday, we’ll explore that together, as we look at the Gospel of Matthew chapter 9 verses 35 to chapter 10 verse 8. Come. Explore. Discover. We look forward to seeing you this Sunday at 10 am online or in the building.

Sometimes hopelessness and meaninglessness can overwhelm us. The healing power of Jesus can seem non-existent. Imagine being in a dead-end thankless job (maybe a tax collector of old), or maybe one of your children is sick near death, or maybe you are suffering from a long-term health concern that seems to have no solution (twelve years and counting). In this week’s scripture, from Matthew 9:9-13 and 18-26 we hear three stories from three very different people who feel very alone: the tax collector, a parent of a sick child, and an unclean woman who suffered for twelve years. How did they experience the healing power of Jesus and not simply continue to wallow in their hopelessness and meaninglessness? Was it their acceptance of God’s grace in their life, their faith, or being willing to follow Jesus? Together this Sunday we’ll take time to explore how Jesus engages those who feel hopeless and how through the sharing of the stories of healing Jesus’ ministry spreads. Come. Explore. Discover. We look forward to seeing you this Sunday at 10 am online or in the building.

This Sunday we explore the concept of the Trinity, as it relates to the Great Commission. What is the Great Commission? The Great Commission is Jesus’ final message in the Gospel of Matthew chapter 28:16-20, but what does it really mean to make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them, and teaching all that Jesus has taught? And how do we do this today? Visit St. Peter, UCC this Sunday at 10 am as we explore the Gospel story of Jesus’ message of going out. Come. Explore. Discover. We look forward to seeing you this Sunday at 10 am online or in the building.

There is a lot of lip service in our age about being a Christian. But what does it actually mean to live it – recognizing the Advocate, known as the Holy Spirit, empowers humanity to live into Jesus’ commandment to love one another as I have loved you. This Pentecost Sunday, the birthday of the church, we explore what it means to be a culture carrier of the Holy Spirit. Embodying Christ’s love through our daily actions. Influencing the tone or temperature of the environments that we are a part of through love. And fostering connections by empowering Christ’s love through the knowledge of the Spirit of Truth in the world. Join the dialogue as we explore John 7:37-39, John 20:19-22, and Acts 2:1-8 and 11b. Come. Explore. Discover. We look forward to seeing you this Sunday at 10 am online (streaming on Facebook and YouTube) or in the building.
