"If we are to develop healthy patterns as disciple makers, we must recapture the art of hospitality." "The apologetics of our time is authenticity." - Dhati Lewis
Filipinos are known for their hospitality. In fact if you Google search “Filipino traits, values and culture” you will find it among the top ones on the list. Hospitality is not just an “art” for us, it’s part of who Filipinos are. We would give time for anyone who drops by without an appointment. We would welcome anyone to our table to share our meal with. We feel honored that someone took time to visit us. We would share what we have, even how little we may have left.
Sadly however, this has been a vanishing trait in our culture, especially in the West. May we as Christians never lose the chance to show hospitality by opening our homes, our lives, for the sake of the Gospel of Christ.
“9Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 13Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice HOSPITALITY” (Romans 12:9-11,13).
