☕️ Loving Our CHEC Teachers

During the first week of school, our Moms of Lake Osborne group had the opportunity to bless the teachers at CHEC with a coffee cart! ❤️

It was a small way to remind them of something we hope they never forget:

Your work matters.
You are appreciated.
You are valued.
You are prayed for.

Teaching is a tremendous responsibility, and we want the teachers at CHEC to know that their work is seen and that their church family is behind them.

This is part of an ongoing ministry at Lake Osborne Church to care for and encourage CHEC teachers throughout the school year. Sometimes that may look like coffee or a special treat. Other times, it may mean providing a meal, volunteering at the school, meeting a practical need, or simply letting a teacher know that we are praying for them.

Most importantly, we want to pray for our CHEC teachers. We believe one of the greatest ways we can support them is by bringing them before the Lord.

We’d love for more of our Lake Osborne Church family to be part of this ministry! If you’d like to help encourage, serve, or pray for CHEC teachers, let us know! 💙

What a great Sunday at Lake Osborne! 💙

We loved taking time to hear more about CHEC—the school, the ministry, and the ways God is working through its students, families, and staff. It was such a joy to hear from those who are part of the CHEC community and to pray together for the year ahead.

As a new school year begins, we’re continuing to pray for God’s guidance, protection, and blessing over every student, teacher, staff member, and family. And we hope they know:

Sunday to Monday: Taking Sunday's truth into the week.

Luke 19:28-40

Yesterday, we were reminded of one simple but powerful phrase from Luke 19:

“The Lord has need of it.”

Jesus didn’t need the c**t because He was lacking something. He could have accomplished His purpose another way. Instead, He chose to include the c**t—and the people around it—in His mission.

And He does the same with us. ❤️

Because of Jesus, we aren’t just recipients of His salvation. We get to be part of His mission.

So what does that look like from Sunday to Monday?

🐴 STEP OUT — Like the disciples, trust Jesus enough to go where He sends you, even when you can’t see the whole picture.

🐴 STEP UP — Like the c**t, make yourself available. You don’t have to be the most talented, qualified, or impressive. Your availability can become your greatest ability when you place it in Jesus’ hands.

🐴 GIVE FREELY — Like the c**t’s owner, hold your time, talents, and resources with open hands. When Jesus calls us to give, we can respond generously because He has already given everything for us.

The Lord has need of it.
The Lord has need of you.

So as you head into this week, ask yourself:

Where is Jesus calling me to step out?
Where is He calling me to step up?
What is He asking me to give?

Let’s take what we learned on Sunday and live it out on Monday. 💛

Missions Spotlight | CHEC Sunday | This Sunday

This Sunday, we’ll be taking time during our regular Sunday morning worship service to spotlight CHEC—the school and ministry that serves students and families in our community and on our campus.

We’ll hear testimonies from a few CHEC students, hear from Cindy about the ministry, and spend time praying together over the students, families, staff, and school as a whole.

Whether you’re familiar with CHEC or hearing about it for the first time, we’d love for you to join us! Come hear what God is doing, learn more about this ministry, and pray with us for the year ahead.

Following the service, we’ll gather for lunch and fellowship together!

Sunday to Monday: Taking Sunday's truth into the week.

Luke 19:11-27

“Are we there yet?”

The disciples were waiting for Jesus to establish His kingdom—but they didn’t yet understand what His kingdom would look like.

As Jesus told the Parable of the Ten Minas, He reminded them that the kingdom would not come in the way they expected. Jesus would first journey through the far country of death, rise again, and entrust His people with the gospel until He returns.

And that leaves us with an important question:

What are we doing with what He has entrusted to us while we wait?

We have been given the good news of God’s grace—not to bury it, hide it, or keep it to ourselves, but to faithfully live in it and share it with others.

Jesus has come. Jesus is coming again. And until He does, we have work to do.

Volunteer Spotlight – Chris 🎛️

Today we want to give a huge THANK YOU to Chris for his faithful service on our Sound Team!

Chris has been serving at Lake Osborne for at least 20 years—since he was a teenager! Week after week, Sunday after Sunday, he faithfully serves behind the scenes to help our worship services and special events sound their best. In fact, Chris is the one who faithfully takes care of sound for us each Sunday morning, and we are incredibly grateful for him!

Chris says that one of the things he enjoys most about serving is the creative challenge of mixing live music—listening carefully, making adjustments, and finding the right balance so that every sound is clear and helps highlight the music.

When he isn't serving at church, Chris is a vintage computing enthusiast who enjoys learning about the history of computing—and even fixing old electronics!

Chris, thank you for more than two decades of faithful, behind-the-scenes service! Your dedication, skill, and willingness to serve are a blessing to our church family. We are so grateful for all you do! ❤️
