PROJECT HOPE
Project Hope is a ministry that ministers to the homeless of Palm Beach County . We operate every Sunday from 7:30-2:30 on the back deck of the portables. Project Hope is always in need of the following:
Drivers: CDL Class C and General License Men who can drive and pick up the homeless at the pick up points. You would need to fill out a driver's application because you would be dri
ving the church passenger vans or shuttle bus. Right now, we have a few men who drive once a month and it helps prevent burnout. To drive, you must commit to be at church on Sunday morning at 7:30 to help set up for breakfast and be able to stay and help out until we take them back, about 1:30 or 2:00. Cooks: We need cooks who enjoy cooking in large quantities. We currently have 5 cooks who cook about once every 5 weeks. Some of our cooks donate the food they cook, but you can also be reimbursed for the cooking ingredients. The main course is what we are in need of as the food ministry is able to provide the desserts and bread from local stores. Our numbers have increased greatly since Thanksgiving and we are now planning to feed 80-90 people each week. Clothes: We are always in need of suitable clothing. Jeans, t shirts, work boots, sneakers etc. During the winter, we need sweat shirts and blankets and during the summer, insect repellent and rain ponchos. We also need socks, underwear, toothpaste, deodorant, and other toiletries. Servers: Anyone willing to help serve lunch, food prep and clean up on Sundays. Food prep takes place Sunday mornings from 8:00 until right before 2nd service. Lunch is served immediately following the 2nd service. The best way to get a feel for the ministry of Project Hope is to join us one Sunday, you don't even have to call ahead, just show up and introduce yourself.
