Join us TONIGHT @ 7PM as we dive into our first series of the year:

“NOT MY JESUS” - A lot of people have their own opinion of who Jesus is, but who does the Bible reveal Jesus to be? Over the next several weeks we will be diving into the importance of knowing who the real Jesus is and how the truth of Jesus’ identity can change our lives forever.

In Week 3 of our “Greater Than” series, Bro. Ryan discussed the greatness of God in the midst of suffering.

“If God is so amazing, powerful and loving then why does evil exist in the world?”

“Why doesn’t God stop all the bad things from happening?”

To answer these two common questions, we spoke about the fall of man. How that God gave the choice for us to choose Him and His goodness, but we chose rebellion. We chose our prideful way. We wanted to be like God. And the curse of sin, brokenness and death fell on all of God’s creation.

We can look all around us and see that this is not how things should be. The Bible tells us that one day everything will be made new, but Jesus has not returned yet. However, while we wait and until then there is still good news.

[James 1:2-4], “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”

God is working to perfect us, mature us, to equip us to be a light in a very dark world. To give hope, to offer the answer, to point others to Jesus.

The 2 key takeaways were:
1. God is Always Redeeming.
2. God is Always Working for Our Good.

Even in a cold and evil world, God is merciful and patient towards us. He is creating new and beautiful things. He is with us and not against us.

This world may not glorify God as it was intended, but God is still working in us and through us to grow His kingdom.

Last night we began our September series entitled, “Greater Than.” Observing God’s greatness in a fallen world.

In our first lesson, Bro. Nick spoke on what God’s greatness means for mankind.

1. Because God is Great, We Have Value.

Our existence is not an accident. The creation of our universe was intentional. God did not create us on accident, He created us with great intention. He values us and loves us, so much so He sent His Son to die for us.

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee,” [Jer. 1:5]

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” [Rom. 5:8]

2. Because God is Great, We Have Meaning.

It is God who gives us meaning for life. It is He who takes our trials and has the abilitiy to turn them into a marvelous testimony of His glory. Nothing Christians experience in life is wasted. God gives our lives meaning.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.” [Rom. 8:28]

3. Because God is Great, We Have Purpose.

(A.) Our Purpose is to Seek Him.

Seek Him - Through Christ there is a permanent salvation.

“[God is] not willing that any should perish, but that all come to repentance.” [2 Pet. 3:9b]

“I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” [Jhn. 10:28]

(B.) Our Purpose is to Serve Him.

Serve Him by Spreading the Gospel.

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” [Matt. 29:19]

Serve Him By Living Righteously.

“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” [1 Cor. 10:31]

Because God is great, because He exists - in Christ we have value, we have meaning, we have purpose.

WEEK 2 🔵 Join us @ 7pm Tonight as Bro. Nick Dykan takes us into our second session of our fall series, “Inside Out.”

In this session, we will be discussing the emotion of sadness. Today, in our world, September 11th is seen as a day of sadness for the loss of thousands just 23 years ago. But sadness, depression, mourning, it all occurs more than in just one day doesn’t it? It’s more than just one event. Why do bad things happen in our world? How can we overcome our sadness? SPOILER: The answer is Jesus.
