Last Sunday was very special at the Lake Village Presbyterian Church. We celebrated two of the Holy sacraments with Baptism and Holy Communion. Steve and Becky Bushman made the important decision to be baptized in the Name of their Lord and Savior Jesus. It was a very special time within the service.
Pastor Jay’s message was entitled “Water” based on scriptures from Matthew and John. We sang songs of praise that included Amazing Grace, Holy Water, Baptized, Mighty to Save and Left it in the River.
Thank you to Diana for assisting, Kim and Sandy for being greeters, Brian and Linda on power point. So excited to have Steve and Becky’s family and friends in attendance for this important time.
Following worship, Steve and Becky greeted everyone and we enjoyed fellowship and a luncheon together in the fellowship hall. What a great day in the house of the Lord! ❤️🙏😇🙌

Good morning!
If anyone is available to volunteer today, we could sure use some help this morning at the Lake Village Presbyterian church unloading and putting away our food for the Little Help Food Pantry.
We pick up food once a month to restock the pantry.
The North Newton football boys are unable to make it today. The Truck should be there around 830 to 9 and usually it takes about 2 to 3 hours, then we provide a quick lunch.

Still Need Help After the March 10 Tornado?

Maybe didn't think you did before when our case managers reached out, but things have changed?

Months later, the Newton County Long-Term Recovery Group is still here — and we know some households in our community are still working through unmet needs from the tornado. We have begun committing funds where parameters allow.

If you were affected, we encourage you to fill out our assistance request form. Here's what we look at when reviewing requests:

✅ Damage resulted from the March 10 tornado
✅ Property is located in Newton County
✅ Property was your primary residence at the time of the tornado
✅ The request relates to your dwelling/home
✅ You may be asked to share documentation of insurance, FEMA, SDRF, or other disaster assistance received

A few things to know:
🚫 We are not able to assist with tree removal
🚫 We are not able to assist with outbuildings, barns, sheds, garages, or other detached/non-residential structures
ℹ️ Meeting these initial guidelines doesn't guarantee assistance — every request is reviewed individually based on remaining unmet need

📍 This Sunday, August 30th, we will be celebrating Holy Communion and a couples decision to be baptized.

The Little Help Food Pantry is in need of plastic (dollar store or Walmart bags) and brown paper bags for the food pantry. If you have extra bags that need a new home, please consider dropping them by the church. Please place them in the gray bin on the northwest side of the church.
It is checked daily.

😎✝️ Last Sunday, August 23rd we welcomed back Mr. Kaden Smith, Olivet Preaching Ambassador. Kaden shared a very timely message entitled,
“Growing through Trials.”
Based on James chapter 1:2-4. 📖

🌪️ After a couple of difficult weather and power outage weeks, we ALL COULD RELATE. Kaden also shared a personal experience of a friend going through a difficult time. Life isn’t easy, but God is there.

Our Meditation Song was

Kadens message reminded us we are a child of God and that He is always with us. Life’s trials will come and go but as we serve God we can and will grow. 🪴

The Little Help Food Pantry will be open Tuesday, August 25th from 9:30am-12:30pm. Please park on the north side of the church fellowship hall. A volunteer will come to your car. Patrons will fill out a grocery shopping list and groceries will be brought to your car. We serve families who live within the North Newton School District, Shelby and Schneider. We have frozen meat, canned goods and some personal care items while supplies last. Bring your photo id and we will check you in.

Sometimes life is hard. We are here to help and bless you with free food.
Please, if you are in need: COME!
Some baby items will be available as well.

The Little Help Food Pantry is open the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. You may visit twice a month.

Prayer will also be available! Just ask a volunteer! Have a Blessed Day! ❤️🙏
