Over eight hundred years ago, St. Dominic founded an Order of Preachers to “preach the Gospel for the salvation of souls.” As Dominicans, we look to Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen with great admiration, for he was a preacher par excellence and we continue to be inspired by the pillars that animated his remarkable life:

Prayer: Archbishop Sheen was known to spend one hour before the Blessed Sacrament daily.

Study: Archbishop Sheen was a professor of philosophy and theology at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

Evangelizing the Culture: His television series “Life is Worth Living” was enormously popular in the 1950s and continues to edify a new generation of Catholics worldwide.

We rejoice with the Universal Church as we await his upcoming beatification on September 24!

Bishop Robert Barron blasts St. Paul's Cathedral for signing a multi-year deal with a nightclub company to host concerts inside what he calls "the second most important church in the Anglican world."

The nightclub partner, Fabric, lost its license roughly a decade ago after two drug-related deaths — and will now serve as the cathedral's exclusive events partner through 2030.

Barron called the move "another sign of our pitiful surrender to ideological secularism," saying the Church of England has lost any sense of the distinction between the sacred and the secular.
