St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church

St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church "Come and See"...As the Light of Christ, we strive to bring the Love of Christ into every heart. There is so much going on at St. Francis! Who are we? The Bible.
(1)

We gather together as Jesus did with his followers; there is often food for the body and always food for the soul! You can be as involved or uninvolved as you wish, but your presence is always desired and welcomed. The name “Episcopal” comes from the Greek word episcopos which means "bishop" or "overseer." The Episcopal Church is lead by Bishops and we are called Episcopalians. Each individual chu

rch is lead by a priest who is under the authority of a bishop. A bishop is responsible for a number of churches that make up what we call a diocese, of which there are hundreds throughout the country and abroad. What do we believe? There are three important things that characterize our church:
1. The Bible, sometimes called the Scriptures, is the written word of God. All that is needed for life and salvation can be found in the pages of the Bible.
2. Tradition. Just as any family has traditions that are passed on from generation to generation, so too the church has passed down many traditions that enrich our worship and help us to understand our heritage.
3. Reason. The Episcopal Church is often called the “thinking person’s church” because it does not have a man-made set of rules to help us find our salvation. God gave us minds to think and we should use those minds to seek the truths that are found in Holy Scripture. All are welcome.

Happy Pentecost Sunday!!! Come, Holy Spirit, Come 🔥
Also we celebrated our Deacon Candidate, Laura Murray’s last Sunday with us. We gifted her with beautiful Deacon Stoles that were handmade by our very own Deacon Rose Sapp-Bax.
We were all blessed to have had Archdeacon Julie Altenbach with us from the Diocese of Central Florida. And finally we had a cake baking contest to celebrate the birthday of the church.
