Our Lady of the Lake, Lake Ozark, Missouri Catholic Parish of the Diocese of Jefferson City, Missouri at the Lake of the Ozarks

Our parish community is over 75 years old and we want to share our faith with the next generation of Catholics, Christians, and all people of Good Will who come into our community. Ideally situated at the Lake of the Ozarks, where hundreds of thousands of visitors come each year, we hope to be a place to encounter Christ and assist people in living their lives as disciples of Jesus.

On Pentecost, we celebrated the Profession of Faith and welcomed Cheryl Bordewick into the Catholic Church. It was a beautiful Mass with the Holy Spirit truly present among us.
Welcome, Cheryl! May God bless you and guide you always.

Did you know the Monday after Pentecost is now the Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church? Pope Francis added it to the universal calendar in 2018, to remind us that Christian life is anchored in the cross, the Eucharist, and the maternal care of Mary.

The title “Mother of the Church” flows from the scene at the cross in John 19, where Jesus gives Mary to the beloved disciple — and, through him, to all disciples. Vatican II and St. Paul VI formally highlighted this, calling Mary Mater Ecclesiae, and St. John Paul II deepened that devotion with his motto Totus tuus and the “Mater Ecclesiae” mosaic overlooking St. Peter’s Square.

This memorial invites pastors, religious, and all the faithful to grow in a “maternal sense” of the Church and in genuine Marian piety: seeing Mary as our spiritual mother who guides the pilgrim Church toward her Son.
