Our name incorporates the two significant beliefs of our church. “Seventh-day” because we believe in keeping God’s Commandments out of loving appreciation and obedience for Jesus’ atoning sacrificial death (➡️ John 14:15; Rev 12:17). This includes the Seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday) as the day God established for rest and communion (➡️ Gen 2:3; Exo 20:8; Mark 2:27-28; Isa 66:23). “Adventist” because we joyfully anticipate the imminent return of Jesus Christ as the world’s Saviour (➡️ John 14:1-3), as He has promised through His faithful word: “behold, I come quickly” (Rev 22:12).
