Thank you Dad for all you did in the Navy during World War Two. I honor you today.
Your Son Darryl

In remembering my father William Darryl Webb who served in World War 2 in the Navy. He was at Pearl Harbor the Day it was bombed. He fought after that in ever major engagement of the Pacific up to and including the surrender of Japan and was there during the occupation.

I’m so proud of all that he did and endured. He was wounded and recieved a Purple Heart.

I wanted to also recognize all those in my family who fought and in some cases died protecting our country.

Starting with a Webb family member who went with Benjamin Franklin to seek help from the French

Also at great risk of thier lives allowed thier farm home during the revolution to let George Washington and his officers meet and plan War against the British

I recognize my family member General Alexander Webb who on the 3rd days of Gettysburg with Pickett’s charge coming at the middle of the Union defense that he was tasked to protect.

Being wounded he spured his men on and stopped the charge and helped defeat the confederate Army and Gettysburg. He received the congressional Medal of Honor for that day.

Why did these do it. Because they loved America.

I remember my Grandfather William R Webb who fought in the trenches in World War One and was the middle weight boxing Champion

After World War 2 The forgotten war of Korea War broke out and my uncle went to war in the army. He was there the day the Chinese Army over ran Korea. They fought and sent them home

Why did they do it. Because they loved America

Later during the Vietnam War two of my cousins went and fought. One in tbe army who during the battle of Hamburger Hill lost his entire platoon. Also having th radio shot off his back

The other was on the USS forestal when a bomb broke loose and exploded on the ship killing many young men

We have two son in laws who fought in Afghanistan. One an Apache attach pilot the other a sniper in the Marines

Both saw a lot they can’t really express
Why did they do it ? Because they loved America.

My wife and I fought in a different Army ( Gods Army). We traveled and ministered in every place my dad helped liberate.

We lived in Japan for 14 years and adopted when I was 50 and my wife was 49 a one month old baby Japanese daughter who is now 25 married and serving the Lord in a great church.

None of that would have happened without my father’s work during World War One.

They all did this because they live our country.

I praying during this Memorial Day we will remember those in our famiiies who gave give so much for us. And give thanks and prayers for them and for America to preserve her and bring her back to the place God designed her for.

We pray against her enemy’s inside and out that Lord you will protect America. With all her faults and failings it is still the very best country in the world because it’s a land of Freedom

Lord help all of us to work to keep her free.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
