“Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure. — 1 Timothy 5:22
No car manufacturer would release a new model car to the public without first testing the weaknesses and strengths of that automobile. To test the new model, the manufacturer will order it to be driven as fast as it can be driven. It will be crashed into a wall. It will be driven on nails to test the strength of the tires. It will be driven over every conceivable kind of pavement and in all kinds of temperatures. Only after the car passes the final inspection will it be deemed “fit for public usage. To release a car without these kin of tests would be considered irresponsible.
People are precious to God, and they should be precious to us as well. But before we give people great power and authority in a church or an organization, they first need to be tested and proven. It is essential that those of us who are in leadership positions know who these individuals really are and how they will perform in various situations.
The apostle Paul referred to this testing process when he wrote, “Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure” (1 Timothy 5:22). The word “suddenly” is the Greek word tachus, and in this verse it carries the idea of doing something quickly or hastily. The words “lay hands” are from the Greek word epitithimi, which means to place hands upon. In both Old Testament and New Testament times, a “laying on of hands” ceremony was the equivalent of stamping that individual with one’s personal seal of approval. When those in leadership positions laid hands on a person, they were signifying that they believed in him, supported him, and desired to empower him to perform some task or duty. Hence, the laying on of hands was an act that was carried out very cautiously, since it gave the recipient such a high status in the eyes of the beholders.
Paul tells us, “Lay hands suddenly on no man….” A better translation would be, “Don’t give your seal of approval to people too hastily….” You see, it’s very possible to lay hands on people too quickly — to give them the seal of our approval before we really know them and to impart authority to them before they are ready. This is a foolish mistake that produces painful consequences.
If you feel God has chosen you, don’t get frustrated if you are held back for a while by those who are in authority over you. It is wise and right for them to know you, and to test you.
So if you are in a leadership position, take the time to know someone before you give that person new power and authority. And if you are wanting to be chosen for a higher position yourself, be patient with those who are waiting and watching you. They have a God-given responsibility to know you and to feel confident about you before they lay their hands on you!

The Call Of God Is A Holy Calling.
In the Bible, the word “Holy” is often used to describe something or someone that is set apart for a sacred purpose. To say that we carry a “Holy” calling means that it is very specific!
Claire and I were called of God to pioneer a church in Lake Jackson and establish His People! We have been obedient and New Beginnings sets as a Living Witnes to His Calling.
Claire and I have done the heavy lifting and now the church is set to soar under the new leadership of Pastor Bradley Cooper and his wife, Kiki!

Remember when…

I remember how the older women loved to get together and talk when I was young. They could be complete strangers and within minutes they would be talking as though they had known each other forever. They talked of children, recipes, gardening, quilting, church, but I never heard anyone talk of discontent or anger at how their life turned out or how they needed to 'find' themselves. It was about the same with men. They talked of working in the mines, driving a truck, religion, or politics. They never got angry or bashed each other over religion or politics. Someone commented recently on how sad our lives were! But our lives weren't sad at all. We knew love, contentment, and probably more happiness that many children know today. I believe we were so rich in love, kindness and respect and we were raised knee deep in those regards. Our houses were unpainted and we had outhouses for bathrooms. Many times we lived in houses without electricity. Appalling? No, we made do. The entire extended family congregated at granny's house on Sunday and some times there were as many as forty people sitting down at that oil cloth covered table, some of us sitting on lard stands. We have lost so much through the years...family, community, church, and even love has often been thrown by the wayside, and we search for happiness and are never content. There's a lot to be said for contentment and simplicity. Perhaps we need to get out in nature more, sit on the porch, dig in the garden, tell stories to children, bake cookies, make sun tea, hang out clothes, live simply, love each other, and then surely we would win the quest for finding ourselves!

WAITING ON GOD, Can Be One of The Most Difficult Things We Are Asked To Do!
Moses was God’s chosen leader! After the death of Moses, God raised up Joshua to lead the people. After the death of Joshua, the people told God they wanted a King like all of the other people! So God had Samuel anoint Saul as their king.
Samuel summoned the people of Israel to the Lord at Mizpah and said to them, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘I brought Israel up out of Egypt, and I delivered you from the power of Egypt and all the kingdoms that oppressed you.’ But you have now rejected your God, who saves you out of all your disasters and calamities. And you have said, ‘No, appoint a king over us.’ So now present yourselves before the Lord by tribes and clans.”
God wanted to be their king, but the people wanted an earthly king like everyone else had.
One day after winning an important military victory, Saul did not wait on Samuel to come and offer up a sacrifice, but rather gave in to pride, took matters into his own hands and offered it up the sacrifice himself.
Immediately, Samuel arrives to announce to Saul that the Lord had judged him.
Samuel told Saul: “The Lord has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him ruler of his people because you have not kept the Lord’s command” (1 Samuel 13:14). That man, of course was David.

Let’s say a farmer plants a hundred acres of corn. When he harvests the corn he knows that some of the corn he will sell. Some of the corn he will eat, but some of the corn he will carefully set aside as SEED corn. This is corn he needs to plant his field next planting time. This seed is not to be touched! He won’t use it to buy a new tractor, lottery tickets or back to school clothes. This is his SEED corn! Your income is the same as his corn, some you use to pay bills, buy food and some for enjoyment. God asks for a tithe of your income. That 10% is your SEED. Do not spend or eat your seed corn. When you tithe you are planting seed for the next harvest! The tithe is the Lord’s, it is holy!
If you are not planning to attend church, mail in your tithe!
