We Are Delighted To Present ~
The 8th Annual Crosses for Christ Lake Helen, Easter Weekend, 2026.

This year we have 29 united crosses placed in 26 different locations throughout our historic little city of Lake Helen, Florida.

Our crosses are proudly sponsored by residents, business owners, churches and organizations of Lake Helen.

Since its inception Crosses for Christ Lake Helen has redefined how Easter is celebrated in the city of Lake Helen; not just by the presence of our crosses but with the changes their presence has brought. Creating positive engagement with, in and for our community; Crosses for Christ Lake Helen is a true testament to the real meaning of ‘Easter’.

Crosses for Christ Lake Helen is a collaborative event and we are sincerely grateful for and cognizant of all who participate whether that be via planning, prepping, supplying, sponsoring, supporting, volunteering, decorating, visiting and or viewing; we appreciate YOU!

With that, it would be remiss not to mention a few names here deserving of highlight so let it be known~

This year we once again give special thanks to former Mayor Buddy Snowden. Mr. Snowden has provided many of our crosses over the years, including this year (and often with short notice ). Mr Snowden has given ‘The Blessing of The Buckets’ for the past two years at the (Holy) Saturday Easter Eve ‘bucket pick up’. We greatly appreciate Buddy and his wife, Pat, for their support through the years.

Last year we were thrilled to have been able to use ‘the historic Old Bank Building’ on Lakeview Ave for several sponsored cross placements with support from former Mayor Mark Shuttleworth and former Commissioner Mike Woods. This year, we are blessed to be able to continue sponsored cross placements there and grateful for the permission by the building’s new owners, Thayer and Deborah Fairing. We are so appreciative to be able to use this location again (even with and especially during this time of renovation of the building)

We are blessed with outstanding suppliers; Dotties Florist for our florals, Select Growers for our foliage, The Trophy Factory of DeLand for our plaques. (again, Buddy Snowden for our crosses 🙂 ) We could not do this event like we do without each of them and all of you. So thank YOU!

What started in 2019, has now become a tradition for many; so ...

This Easter Weekend, 2026, We Are Excited To Present The 8th Annual Crosses for Christ Lake Helen; beginning with the placement of our crosses on Good Friday. Our crosses are decorated late Saturday and present in full bloom on Easter Sunday.
A map of all the crosses will be available online Easter morning.

Beginning Good Friday, When We Place our Crosses for Crosses For Christ Lake Helen , we will drape them in black. The black cloth symbolizes the death and burial of Jesus and represents mourning. The black cloth should be removed by Easter Sunday.

If one drapes on Sunday, drape with white cloth; white cloth symbolizes the resurrection, purity and victory.

We Love Our Sponsors, Our City - And Most Of All, Our Message -

Three wooden crosses stand in front of the historic Old Bank of Lake Helen, one of the city’s remaining buildings over 100 years old. Part of the 7th Annual Crosses for Christ display, the crosses were sponsored by The Butler Express (left), The Love in Lake Helen (center), and the Weary Family (right), creators and curators of the citywide event. This year’s project features 24 crosses at 21 locations throughout Lake Helen, including private residences, the American Legion Auxiliary, and Honey + Clay Collective.
