The Grafton HS Girl's Tennis Team climbed to new heights this past week when they joined facilitators from the Snake Road Adventure Center for a day of team building, leadership development and problem-solving initiatives which took them to the very top of the high ropes course.

We can't wait to learn about how their 2026 season goes!

Women’s Retreat is a chance to trade the normal routine for conversations with friends, time to reflect, worship together and stories from women whose faith and leadership helped shape the Church.

The Snake Road Adventure Center is keeping busy this fall.

The Snake Road team has already welcomed dozens of school groups, sports teams and youth retreats to Covenant Harbor in the past few weeks.

Each group comes to learn, grow and have an adventure in their own way and we are excited to at the end of every visit to hear what their experience has been like!

No, it’s apparently not too early to talk about next summer. 😄 We’re hiring Summer Staff for 2027! Think campfires, waterfront afternoons, ridiculous cabin games, new friendships and a summer spent making camp an incredible experience for kids.

It’s hard work. It’s a lot of fun. And somewhere along the way, you’ll probably grow just as much as the campers you came here to serve.

THE MORE YOU KNOW: Indian Stovepipe 🌈🌟

You might spot this incredible plant around Geneva Lake this time of year. It looks a little like something from another planet, but Indian Stovepipe, also known as pinesap (Monotropa hypopitys) is a fascinating woodland plant.

Unlike most plants, Indian Stovepipe contains no chlorophyll, so it doesn't make its own food through photosynthesis. Instead, it gets nutrients through relationships with underground fungi that are connected to nearby trees. Historically, plants in the Monotropa group have been associated with traditional medicinal and other uses.

It’s an incredible example of how much is happening beneath our feet that we never see and how interconnected God’s creation really is.

⚠️ A note about foraging: Never consume or harvest a wild plant based on a photo, social media post or common name. Proper identification takes experience, and wild plants can have dangerous look-alikes. Only trained and knowledgeable foragers should consider harvesting wild plants and always with permission where required.

Sometimes the person standing at the bottom of the climbing wall saying, “I can't do that,” is the same person at the top a few minutes later.

That’s a pretty good day at the Snake Road Adventure Center.

Climbing, archery, team challenges, canoeing and other adventures give groups a chance to try something new, encourage each other and discover what they can accomplish together.

Camp offices are closed today and will reopen tomorrow.

Somewhere out there is a camper who will arrive at Covenant Harbor next summer nervous about being away from home. They don’t know who will encourage them to try the climbing wall, sit beside them at lunch, answer their questions about Jesus or make them laugh when they're having a rough day.

They don’t know who their counselor will be yet.

There will be scorecards.

There will probably be a few lost golf balls.

Someone will absolutely insist that putt should have gone in.

But the most important number at Golf for Kids isn't anyone's score.

It's the number of people who get to experience Covenant Harbor because scholarship assistance made it possible.

It's not your normal summer job. You could spend it doing cannonballs, leading cabin devotions, belaying campers, making friendship bracelets, singing at the top of your lungs and becoming very familiar with the smell of campfire smoke.
