Day 10 of “40 Days of Fasting and Prayer” - Pastor KC
Dear church family, I am going through Nehemiah slowly because I don’t want to miss any important details that God has for us.
Last Sunday, Pastor Will preached a timely message for us. I listened to the whole sermon.
In Nehemiah 2, Nehemiah encouraged the people to rise up and build. And the people responded “yes, let us rise up and build!” What faith they had to respond so quickly to the calling of God. They got to work right away. Here is what happened first.
“Eliashib the high priest and his fellow priests went to work and rebuilt the Sheep Gate. They dedicated it and set its doors in place, building as far as the Tower of the Hundred, which they dedicated, and as far as the Tower of Hananel.”
Nehemiah 3:1 NIV
In Nehemiah 3:1, it says that the first people to build the wall were the priests. The first section they built was the sheep gate. This is important. It’s the gate where the people brought the sheep for worship and sacrifice. Before anything else, it is the sacrifice of the Lamb that lays the foundation of all that we do. Every sheep that entered the sheep gate ultimately pointed people to Jesus, the lamb of God. The foundation of God’s work is in the sacrifice of Christ. The priests paved the way, set an example for the people. When the priest got to work, the people got to work.
Therefore we recognize that before we get any church building, our focus is first and foremost on the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world! Christ is our pillar, our cornerstone, our unshakable foundation.
Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, we honor you. Thank you for sending your son, Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God to take away our sins. We bring our sins and weakness before you. We lay them at the foot of the cross. Wash us clean. Forgive us of our sins.
Then show us the way, the path forward. Show us how to live a life that is pleasing in your sight. We trust that Father has a place for us to call home. We are not orphans without a home. We are your sons and daughters who belong in the house of God. Thank you for being our good, good Father.

親愛的教會家人，
我正在慢慢查考《尼希米記》，因為我不想錯過神要對我們說的任何重要信息。
上個主日，Will 牧師傳講了一篇非常切合我們現況的信息。我把整篇講道都聽完了。
在《尼希米記》第 2 章，尼希米鼓勵百姓：「起來建造！」百姓立刻回應說：「我們起來建造吧！」他們對神的呼召回應得何等迅速，充滿信心，並且馬上開始動工。
那麼，他們首先做的是什麼呢？
「那時，大祭司以利亞實和他的弟兄眾祭司起來建造羊門，分別為聖，安立門扇；又建到哈米亞樓，直到哈楠業樓，也都分別為聖。」 ——《尼希米記》3:1
《尼希米記》3:1 告訴我們，最先起來建造城牆的是祭司，而他們建造的第一段就是羊門。這一點具有非常重要的屬靈意義。
羊門是百姓把羊牽來獻祭、敬拜神的入口。在一切事工開始之前，最重要的根基就是羔羊的犧牲。每一隻經過羊門的羊，都預表著將來要來的耶穌基督——神的羔羊。
神一切工作的根基，都建立在基督的十字架和祂的犧牲上。
祭司首先動工，為百姓樹立了榜樣。當祭司開始建造時，百姓也跟著一起建造。
因此，我們也明白，在得到任何教堂建築之前，我們的焦點首先不是建築物，而是神的羔羊——除去世人罪孽的耶穌基督。
基督是我們的柱石，是我們的房角石，是我們永不動搖的根基。
讓我們一起禱告：
親愛的天父，
我們尊崇祢、敬拜祢。感謝祢差遣祢的獨生愛子耶穌基督，成為神的羔羊，除去我們的罪。
今天，我們把自己的罪、軟弱和失敗都帶到祢面前，放在十字架下。求祢用寶血潔淨我們，赦免我們一切的罪。
主啊，求祢指引我們前面的道路，向我們顯明祢的旨意，教導我們如何活出討祢喜悅的生命。
我們相信，天父早已為我們預備了一個屬靈的家。我們不是沒有家的孤兒，而是屬於祢的兒女，屬於神的家。
謝謝祢是一位良善、慈愛、信實的天父。
我們如此禱告，都是奉主耶穌基督的名，阿們！
