🐦 🌺 With Spring upon us, we love going outside as much as we can to play and learn. The Explorer students enjoyed exploring the church property as they hunted for various objects. With their clipboards in hand, they found a bird, bench, and flowers. Their faces lit up with excitement when they were able to check-off what they saw. Way to go friends! 🌺 🐦

🐸 🐍 What a wonderful morning we shared with the “Frog Lady”! Fellowship Hall was buzzing with excitement as we got an up-close look at everything from frogs and lizards to incredible turtles and snakes. The kids were captivated as they learned about these animals, and some children were even brave enough to touch them. Wow!! Your support of our school’s fundraising efforts directly funds these enrichment opportunities. We are so grateful for your continued partnership in making mornings like this a reality at FPP! It was a morning our kids will never forget! 🐸 🐍

🤍💙Despite our school year coming to end, our classrooms are still filled with fun activities and lots of learning. Our “Friday Friends” were busy beading rainbow bracelets with spectacular patterns, completing their alphabet book covers, constructing elaborate structures with Legos, tree blocks, and creating a bustling scene of farms and farm animals. We love seeing what our children create! 💙🤍

🥛 💙☁️ In art, the Explorer students read the book It Looked Like Spilled Milk, which sparked great conversations about shapes and imagination. Afterward, the children created their own “spilled milk” art by placing white paint on blue paper, closing paper, and observing what shapes it made. Many saw butterflies but some saw clouds or even a snowman and car. We were so impressed by the children’s creativity! Way to go!🥛 💙☁️

☀️🪴Our students enjoyed two wonderful mornings with a very special guest, Lisa Hilgenberg, grandmother of Zoe. As a former member of the Chicago Botanic Garden team, she brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise on how to properly plant and care for seeds as they grow. With her guidance, the children learned each step of the planting process. They carefully filled their pots with seedling soil, used their fingertips to create small holes, placed their seeds inside, and gently covered them to secure them in place. The kids are so excited to watch them grow! We are so grateful for special visitors like Lisa who help bring our curriculum to life in meaningful, hands-on ways. 🪴 ☀️

Our Friday Friends and Odyssey classes loved venturing down the street to Triangle Park! Our recent walking field trips invited the students to slow down and look, listen, and take in the world around them. The children collected interesting treasures like sticks, pinecones, flower petals, and even dandelions along the way, and loved exploring the park — from climbing trees to riding the friendliest deer in Lake Forest, friends loved immersing themselves in nature! 🌳🌼🌱🦌💙
