Dear Church Family & Lake Elsinore Community,

With hearts full of gratitude, we want to share an important update. After much prayer, reflection, and seeking God’s direction, we have made the difficult decision to close Refuge City Church. While this marks the end of a chapter, it is not the end of our mission to love Jesus and love others.
We are deeply thankful for every person who has walked through our doors, worshiped with us, served alongside us, and helped make Refuge City a place of faith, love, and community. Your kindness, generosity, and commitment to serving others have been a beautiful reflection of Christ’s love (Philippians 1:3-6).

Though we may not gather together in the specific location God has provided for, our calling as followers of Jesus remains. The Gospel is not confined to four walls, and neither is the work of God in our lives. We encourage each of you to continue growing in faith, serving your neighbors, and being the light of Christ wherever He leads you (1 John 2:6).

This is not a moment of defeat but a reminder that the Church—the body of Christ—is alive and well in each of us. We take heart in knowing that God is always at work, even in seasons of change.

Thank you for being part of this journey. We pray that you continue to seek Jesus, love one another, and trust in His perfect plan (2 Timothy 1:6-7).

With love and gratitude,

Pastor Cam Stevens

NEW DEVOTION: “Specializing in Praise”

Doxology is more than just a song of praise—it’s a way of life. The word “doxology” comes from doxa (glory, praise) and logia (word, study of), meaning a declaration of God’s glory. In this message, we explore what it means to live unashamed for Christ, magnifying His name in every aspect of our lives. Are we living in a way that honors God, or are we hesitant to let our faith be seen?

NEW DEVOTION: “Are you willing to forgive?”

Conflict is inevitable in human relationships, even within the church. Jesus, knowing this reality, provides a step-by-step guide to reconciliation in Matthew 18:15-35. He emphasizes that peace and unity in the body of Christ require humility, accountability, and an attitude of forgiveness. The goal of confrontation is not punishment but restoration, and forgiveness should be extended as freely as it has been given to us.

NEW DEVOTION: “Celebrity or Servant?”

The disciples asked Jesus, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” Instead of honoring power or status, Jesus pointed to a child, emphasizing humility, trust, and dependence. The world often equates greatness with influence and recognition, but Jesus teaches that true greatness is found in humility.

NEW DEVOTION: “Faith over Doubt”

Faith is a word we hear often, yet it is also something we struggle to live out fully. In Matthew 17:14-27, we see a series of encounters that challenge the way we understand faith—faith in the face of doubt, fear, and even deficiency. Jesus reminds us that faith must always be rooted in Him and not in our own strength or abilities.

February 3, 2025. "The Object of our Faith" (Matthew 17:14-27)

Welcome to this week's sermon, "The Object of Our Faith," where we explore Matthew 17:14-27 and uncover powerful lessons about faith over doubt, fear, and deficiency.

✅ Faith Over Doubt – When the disciples failed to heal the boy, Jesus pointed to their lack of faith. How does our faith in Jesus impact those around us? (Matthew 17:14-18)
✅ Faith Over Fear – Even when Jesus foretold His death and resurrection, the disciples struggled with fear and understanding. How often do we let fear override God's promises? (Matthew 17:19-23)
✅ Faith Over Deficiency – Jesus provided for the temple tax in a miraculous way, showing that God always provides in ways we may not expect. (Matthew 17:24-27)

Faith must be rooted in Jesus, not in ourselves.
Prayer and dependence on God are essential for spiritual strength.
God’s provision is always sufficient for our needs.

February 23, 2025. "Glory to Glory" (Matthew 17:1-13)

We explore the powerful moment of Jesus' Transfiguration, where Peter, James, and John witness His divine radiance, standing alongside Moses and Elijah—a breathtaking revelation of Christ as the fulfillment of both the Law and the Prophets. Through this encounter, we see how God’s glory transforms everything. We, as humans, are uniquely created to reflect God’s image, to the disciples’ awe-struck response on the mountain, we are reminded that true transformation happens when we behold Jesus.

How does seeing Christ’s glory change the way we live daily?
Are we actively listening to Jesus and aligning our choices with His Word?
In what ways is God calling us to be transformed by His presence?

There is profound meaning in picking up our cross and associating with Christ's resurrection. Faith in Jesus transitions us from death to life and empowers us to conquer challenges. Though the world may hate you for what you believe and how you choose to live, the blessings of God grants us the power to overcome this world and live in the peace of Christ.

"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
