For almost 160 years, Swisher Cemetery has served as a final resting place of honor and respect for our family and friends in the Lake Cities Area. We endeavor to uphold the maintenance and management of Swisher Cemetery to the highest standards. Swisher Cemetery Association evolved from what was known as the "Birthday Club", and volunteers have kept the cemetery operational and beautiful all this time. Many plans are in place for this year. Most immediately, the association will participate in the annual Memorial Day service held on our grounds. We invite you to join us this coming Monday, May 25th at 9:00 a.m. as the VFW, American Legion, Boy Scouts, and Swisher Cemetery Association unite to honor those who have served above and beyond. Additionally, the annual informational fundraising letter will be mailed out in early summer. If you want to ensure you receive a letter, please email [email protected] with your name and mailing address. Future plans being discussed are reviving the annual Mother's Day service and possibly adding a Veteran's Day event. More information will be forthcoming. On Thursday morning, longtime volunteer Barbara Garrison of Lake Dallas, Texas, passed away. Barbara was a cherished member of the Swisher Cemetery Association (formerly the Lake Dallas Birthday Club), where she served as a board member and devoted over 40 years to the cemetery. Her unwavering enthusiasm and commitment made her a pillar of the organization, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her. We take this moment to honor Barbara’s remarkable life and express our heartfelt gratitude for the countless hours she dedicated to us.

Barbara’s passing follows that of fellow board member and dedicated volunteer, Edna Newton, who passed away in June. We extend our deepest thanks for Edna’s many years of service and commitment.

Barbara Gayle Boliver Garrison was called to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 5, 2024. She was born to Albert Raymond Boliver and Charlsie Damon Pate Boliver on August 26, 1937 in Abernathy, Texas. She was the oldest of four children. The family moved to Lake Dallas, Texas in
