“That’s on them.” If you live to please an audience of One, (looking vertically) you take your eyes and heart off the horizontal! That’s peace!

I think one of the hardest things, at least for me, is to allow someone to have a bad opinion of me. I want to defend myself. I want to explain why they’re wrong. I want to convince them that I’m a decent person and I am worth liking.

I don’t want my reputation left in their hands, because their hands are fickle.

But the truth is. The very, very hard-to-swallow truth is that I’m not in control of their opinions about me. I’m not in control of the view they have of me, the light they choose to see me through and unfortunately, even what they say about me to others.

Peace is letting go.

Peace is accepting that they’re entitled to their feelings about me.

They have every right to not like me. They have every right to not choose me, to not invite me or to label me as the villain, the bad guy, or whatever else they want. They don’t have to forgive me, give me grace or even attempt to understand my point of view.

But at the end of the day, the thing is, my reputation is who they think I am—whatever version of me they have created in their mind. It may be about me. It may involve me, but it’s not really mine to hold.

My character, however, is who I actually am.
My character belongs to me and me alone, and I take it seriously, so I guess they can have their perceptions and they can have their own ideas about who I am and why I do what I do. I release their opinions about me, but I hold tight to my peace.

We all have to take responsibility for the words we write. That’s on us, but we don’t have to exhaust ourselves trying to be responsible for the way people choose to read them. That’s on them.

Love,
Amy

He’s risen & I’ve seen the Lord! And my Lord’s seen me!
Seen & known, soul safe & secure, how can we not now run & share the greatest news, & be His witnesses?

Jesus is the only One who has ever loved us to death, & rose up from the dead, to love us back to the realest & fullest life!

YYYYEEESSSS!!! Please, sit here… Sit in the hours of this Friday… Sit in knowing Jesus chose the Cross for us! Do not rush past this day! Yes, a lot happens in three days! Yes, he is no longer on the Crosse and the resurrection is a beautiful celebration! But please, do not rush past this day! Sit in what he endured for you!

April 3, 2026. Good Friday. Archaeologists discovered the heelbone of a crucified man with the nail still in it. It is displayed in the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. I’m sitting with this image today as I read the crucifixion passages in my Bible. Thinking of how Jesus had seen crucifixions throughout his lifetime. Thinking about how he knew it was coming. And deeply sitting in the mystery of such self-emptying love that Jesus went through with it for me. For you. For the world. I am not rushing to resurrection Sunday. I’m sitting right here. I want this Good Friday and the remembering of Jesus in his crucifixion to have its way with me.

While we look towards Resurrection Sunday, let’s not look past the meaning of today and ALL Jesus endured for us!

Saw it at the theater Tuesday! It’s a powerful and sadly very necessary and relevant documentary. My dear friends Bill Robison and Tracey L Moore-Robison wrote the Bible study that accompanies the film. Tracey shares wisdom in the film.

To have healthy women, wives, mommas, churches, businesses, societies…we must address and deal with wounds we carry. The vast majority of those wounds are father wounds! I see it almost daily in my counseling practice.

Please talk to your church leaders about bringing this vital documentary to your church!
