Isaiah 6:1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
The point that I'd like to elicit from the preceding verse is also found in the following verse.
Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Let us throw in one more for good measure.
Acts 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
These three verses all have a common principle. I'm sure there is more than just one but I want you to really consider them and what may be common though unspoken directly. Stop reading at this point if you don't want to see my answer just yet. Are you ready to proceed?
All three of these verses have this in common. God remains on His throne no matter what happens on Earth. Let me say that again. God remains on His throne NO MATTER what happens on Earth. The rise and fall of "powers" cause anxiety, frustrations and fears among people. But that SHOULD NOT be the case for the true child of God. Are you a child of God? Is Jesus your Lord and Savior? Have you believed by faith that His blood paid for your sin debt, that He was buried and resurrected and is returning? IF that be the case, no matter what happens on Earth whether spiritually or politically, you should never have anxiety, frustrations or fear. Why is that? Because NO MATTER what happens, God is on His throne.
So what then would be the source of my anxiety, frustration and fear? The source would be your flesh. There is weakness in our flesh. We are learning to daily submit our flesh to God's Spirit and flesh not subject to God's Spirit is subject to anxiety, frustrations and fear. The other source would be your lack of faith. Do you REALLY believe that God is on His throne? Do you really believe that God determines the powers that rise up and fall? Do you really believe that God determines the boundaries of Nations? Believing what God has said is faith and faith is trusting that God is true. No matter what my eyes may see, my flesh may feel, my mind may project or my thoughts may reveal, the conflict is between me believing in the physical or trusting God by the Spirit? When we trust God, things may get uncomfortable in the flesh but our spirits are at ease because God's Spirit is "fruiting" peace in our minds and spirits. It comes by trusting what God has said rather than anything else. This brings us then to one of the original aspects of Satan's temptation to Eve in the Garden of Eden. Do you remember what he asked her? "Has God said?" That really is the crux of the issue. Has God said? And what was Jesus' reply to Satan? Man shall not live by bread only but by every word which proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.
Well there ya have it. You do need earthly food but not earthly food alone. Rather, you "LIVE" by trusting in the Word/words that have proceeded from the mouth of the Lord. That is why you do not have anxiety. That is why you do not succumb to frustration. That is why you do not live in fear. We have a BETTER way and that Way is the Word of the LORD! That is my story and that is to what I am looking and believing! You?
