Celebrate Community Church of Lake Andes

Sunday afternoon, July 13th, Pastor Wayne was in Lake Andes, SD to visit our Celebrate Lake Andes church plant. Their current weekend schedule consists of a children's service using video teaching at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoons… followed by a 5:00 p.m. Bible study/sermon teaching time for adults at the same location – Eagle Pride Impact Center (150 N. 3rd Ave). While attendance numbers are small for both groups, Pastor Rodd is making himself available to offer pulpit supply to several neighboring churches. This is a ministry function that is greatly needed in rural SD… and affords the Holman’s opportunities to fellowship with other adults and spiritual leaders in their region.

The teaching for this Sunday was based upon Psalm 51, and the response that King David had to his confrontation from Nathan the prophet. Pastor Rodd was emphasizing that sincere repentance is vitally necessary for being forgiven and restored, no matter the enormity of the sin we may have committed.

Pastor Rodd and Tylene have been leading this church plant for the past 5 years.

Lake Andes kids! Come join us at White Swan Community Center next Tuesday June 10th through Thursday June 12th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM for a Party in Heaven Vacation Bible School. Anyone Kindergarten to 12 years old is invited. Bring your family and friends for an awesome time of fun, crafts, and learning about God's love for you.

We will be hosting a 3 day VBS in Lake Andes on June 10-12. The time will be 6-8pm and kindergarten 12 years old is the group we’re aiming for. Students of older ages are welcome too!

Pastor Rodd would like to thank you all for your prayers. He is feeling much better and is past the COVID isolation requirements. There will be children's and adult church this Sunday (January 5, 2025). Happy and Blessed New Year to you all.

Pastor Rodd has come down with COVID. There will not be children’s church or regular church this Sunday. We’ll be back with both services on January 5th.

Come join us Tuesday Christmas Eve for a candlelight service. We’ll sing some Christmas carols and share in the Christmas story from the Bible.

Good morning everyone,
We have a new movie coming to our area soon. The movie “Ordinary Angels” is being released on February 23, 2024, to theaters. It is based on a true story of ordinary people making an extraordinary difference. Kingdom Story Company, the production company, has provided churches with a 4-week sermon series written by Dave Stone. Dave was the former senior pastor at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky and pastor at the church featured in the film during the events portrayed.

Ordinary Angels shows how important it is for ordinary people to live out the Gospel message in their communities.

Starting tomorrow (January 7, 2024) we will be walking through this series for the next four weeks.

We will dig into the topics of
• Purpose in the Pain
• Purpose in the Doubt
• Purpose in the Parenting
• Purpose in the Brokenness

There are a number of other powerful themes in the movie as well such as service and community. When we live for something greater than ourselves, we find our true purpose as Christ followers.

Come join us for this exciting series, and see the film when it is playing in area theaters.

We will not be having our regular 5PM service. Instead we will be having service by serving in helping with another area church in this ministry to the community. Come and join us this Sunday!
