What happens when women are given the tools to tell stories that others might never hear?

The 2026 Empower Women Media Film Competition celebrates women filmmakers who are using storytelling to explore freedom of religion or belief, human dignity, peace, and the realities facing their communities.

This year's films come from women connected to the Middle East Fellowship, representing diverse contexts including Egypt, Iran, Pakistan, Israel, Cyprus, Morocco, and Syria.

Their stories tackle difficult subjects—from religious freedom and identity to peace, coexistence, and social injustice.

These aren't just films.

They're invitations to listen, understand, and see the world through someone else's eyes.
