All Shall Be Well: Julian of Norwich in the 21st Century
�Many of us have heard Julian of Norwich's most famous saying: "All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well," have maybe even found comfort in it. But does her vision of divine love hold true even in the 21st century? Find out with us on Sunday!��Rev. Rica Kaufel was born and raised in Germany, and moved to the US to study. She graduated from Meadville Lombard Theological School was ordained in January 2021. However, feeling a bit homesick she moved back to Germany in 2022, where she now works for a progressive protestant church in Berlin. One of her duties is to assist sanctuary churches in her district; as part of that, she is overseeing work to build new accommodations for up to 15 refugees needing sanctuary.

"Reflections from the Waterline”"
Wouldn’t it be nice to experience the ocean the way the dolphins do—moving through the waves and seeing what lies just below the surface? Our speaker this Sunday, Matt Wrock, does something very close to that on a near daily basis.
Matt was born in Laguna Beach and now lives in Dana Point. He swims in the ocean year round without a wetsuit, and often brings his camera with him. He shares his photos and reflections after each swim on social media, including on danastrandswimreport.com.
This Sunday, we’ll have the chance to see Matt’s striking photographic work and hear how his time at the waterline supports his spiritual life. His experiences offer a unique perspective on our coastline and the connection many of us feel to the ocean.

"Song, Sound and Summertime"

Today’s guests, Rev. Adelia Sandoval and Mariah Doyle will enchant us like song birds in this service, Song, Sound and Summertime. They are members of the Acjachemen Nation’s
Tushmalum Helegatuum (Hummingbirds that Sing), who share traditional music from the Ajachemen people, the Native Americans who were the first inhabitants of this land we now occupy. Their melodies are shaped by the land, the birds, and the ancient traditions that continue to guide their people. In this 250th year since the colonization of their land, we invite them to teach us more of their ancient culture and stewardship of the land. Please join us for this beautiful presentation.

For further information about the ancient beliefs of the Acjachemen, the Autry Museum has an online program about native culture. The program, Reclaiming El Camino, includes the Acjachemen origin story

Rev. Dr. Terry LePage loves to inspire people through preaching. She is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ. Rev. LePage has served as a transitional minister in Southern California; she previously worked as a research chemist. She currently works for the Deep Adaptation Forum and is a member of Irvine United Congregational Church. In 2018, Rev. LePage became active with C.L.U.E. (Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice). She eagerly supports low-wage workers, immigrants, and incarcerated people because of Jesus’s teaching and example. Rev. LePage lives in Irvine with her husband, Scott.

SPIRIT OF LEADERSHIP: Just Because Someone Holds a Leadership Title, It Does Not Make Them a Leader.

True leadership is a quality, a presence, and a skill. Anyone can learn to become a great leader as long as they also learn to become a great follower. This Sunday let us learn how to lead and follow with greatness.

Rev. Celia Young, BA, MBA, MA, MDiv., is an ordained interfaith chaplain and founder of the Authentic Being Center. Since 1986, Ms. Young has provided consulting services to achieve social justice and create an inclusive organizational culture in FORTUNE 500 corporations worldwide.

In the last few years, Ms. Young has expanded her ministry and spiritual activism beyond the workplace into a broader society, where she helps heal the traumatized and suffering, mend the broken human spirit, and restore the basic goodness of humanity.

Besides serving as a guest minister, Rev. Young offers leadership coaching through her ministry, as well as online holistic life coaching for groups and listening salons for individuals. She has helped people deal with grief, life-ending, caregiving, spiritual wounding, moral injury, and other life and relationship stresses. Rev. Celia is a Unitarian Universalist and Zen Buddhist. "Music of Douglas Miller"

Douglas is a painter, violinist, and photographer. Douglas Miller is a beloved multi-disciplinary artist and violinist who has been a staple of the Laguna Beach community since 1970. Known as the ultimate "renaissance man," he is equally famous for his decades as an exhibitor at the Sawdust Art Festival as he is for his violin performances and massive local photography archive. He grew up in Long Beach where his parents had him take private violin lessons - He has accompanied numerous singers at Sawdust and has played the Coach House more than 30 times with his stage partners and band The Moon Police. WHAT TO DO WHEN TELLING THE TRUTH HURTS

Choosing between peace and truth is a lifetime dilemma for us. There is a price that comes with either choice we make. We keep toggling because we are human beings with a conscience. This Sunday let us keep struggling until we find a path.

Rev. Celia Young, BA, MBA, MA, MDiv., is an ordained interfaith chaplain and founder of the Authentic Being Center. Since 1986, Ms. Young has provided consulting services to achieve social justice and create an inclusive organizational culture in FORTUNE 500 corporations worldwide.

In the last few years, Ms. Young has expanded her ministry and spiritual activism beyond the workplace into a broader society, where she helps heal the traumatized and suffering, mend the broken human spirit, and restore the basic goodness of humanity.

Besides serving as a guest minister, Rev. Young offers leadership coaching through her ministry, as well as online holistic life coaching for groups and listening salons for individuals. She has helped people deal with grief, life-ending, caregiving, spiritual wounding, moral injury, and other life and relationship stresses. Rev. Celia is a Unitarian Universalist and Zen Buddhist. "Co-Creating Liberation with a Womanist Mind"
As the United States enters the 250th year of its colonial project, and the current waves of oppression of our communities intensify, we are mandated by Unitarian Universalism’s call to love, imagine, and create the world we need, louder. A tool, an orientation for the journey, could be a womanist dancing mind.

LJ Williams (they/she) is a q***r African and Jewish writer and theologian, pursuing Masters of both Divinity and Social Change, as well as certificates of Psychedelic Chaplaincy and UU Studies from Starr King School of the Ministry. They served as a coordinator of the Black Lives of Unitarian Universalism Chicago Haven. They were a Worship Learning Fellow at the Church of the Larger Fellowship, and now serves as Broadcast Producer. In 2025 they received a Sacred Writes Fellowship for Public Scholarship in gender and religion.
