1 Samuel 14:24-45, focusing on King Saul's rash vow and unwise leadership decisions that stemmed from pride and anger. The message explores how Saul's growing authority corrupted him, leading him to make an oath that endangered his own son Jonathan. The sermon emphasizes that both pride and anger grow from the seedbed of self-centeredness, which contradicts the Christian calling to die to self and take up our cross. It challenges believers to recognize that emotions like anger are choices we make, not uncontrollable reactions, and that God commands us to control our emotions through the power of the Holy Spirit. The sermon concludes with the importance of church community in calling out sin lovingly and the necessity of true repentance that leads to Christlikeness.

“When we treat holy things casually, our kids rarely treat them more seriously.
What we handle with convenience, they may handle with indifference — and our grandkids with complete neglect.

Honor what God calls holy: His church, His Word, worship, prayer, your body, your family.
Your reverence today can, by God’s grace, rewrite your family line tomorrow. 🙏🔥

Your life is a canvas where God is painting His character for the world to see. 🎨✨

In your suffering, He shows His comfort.
In your forgiveness, He shows His mercy.
In your sacrifice, He shows His love.
In your joy, He shows His goodness.

Let Him display who He is through you today. 💡🕊️

When God puts His own glory on display, it’s not ego—it’s love.

The most loving thing God can do for us is to show us that He is the most valuable, satisfying reality in all the universe.

When His worth becomes clear, our idols lose their shine, our fears lose their grip, and our hearts find a joy that actually lasts. The more we see His greatness, the more we trust Him—and the more we discover that He really is the treasure our souls were made for, both now and forever. ✨🙌

Message from May 3, 2026
This exploration of 1 Samuel 12 unveils two transformative keys that can revolutionize our Christian walk: the key to blessing and the key to peace. We discover that God's blessing flows when we walk in simple obedience—honoring Him, serving Him, listening to His voice, and keeping His commands. Yet this isn't about pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps. As New Testament believers, we possess two incredible advantages the Old Testament saints lacked: a transformed heart and the indwelling Holy Spirit who empowers us to live obediently. The key to peace is even more profound—God has chosen us as His special people, a royal priesthood called out for His own possession, and He promises never to forsake us. No matter what we've done, we can never be so bad that God says He's done with us. This isn't because we're good enough, but because God does everything for the sake of His great name. When we suffer, triumph, forgive, or sacrifice, God displays different facets of His character through us like light through a diamond. The ultimate foundation beneath everything is that God glorifies Himself so that we and others might find our deepest satisfaction in the greatest treasure of all—Jesus Christ Himself.

Discipleship is a journey, not a destination.
Your next step might be repentance, baptism, joining a church family, serving, or sharing your faith—but it should never be standing still.

Ask the Lord, “What’s my next step of obedience?” Talk to our team at the Next Steps Table…and then take it. Let's look like Jesus together.

When the people of Jabesh-Gilead were in crisis, they *sent a message*—and God used their honesty to mobilize help and bring rescue (1 Sam. 11).

In the same way, we’re not meant to suffer in silence. The church is a family, not an audience. When we’re honest about our struggles, God often sends His help through His people.

Don’t hide the hurt. Call out, reach out, speak up. 🗣️
This faith family is here to pray, support, and stand with you. 🤝❤️

This sermon explores 1 Samuel 11, examining Saul's first act as king and the rescue of Jabesh Gilead from the Ammonites. The message emphasizes three critical elements for effective church ministry: recognizing and acknowledging our problems, communicating needs within the body of Christ, and implementing biblical strategies for making disciples. The pastor draws parallels between the ancient crisis at Jabesh Gilead and contemporary church life, emphasizing that God uses trials to produce maturity, that believers must share their struggles with one another, and that the church needs a clear, biblical strategy for discipleship. The sermon concludes with a call for revival characterized by confession of sin, pursuit of holiness, and recommitment to Christ's mission.

“Looking for donkeys… finding a calling.” 🐴👑

God weaves every detail of our lives—jobs, skills, personalities, even our detours—into His bigger story. He doesn’t just save us FROM something, He saves us FOR something.

Your workplace, your neighborhood, your church, your gifts and resources are not random. They’re your *assignment.* 💼🏠⛪️

Don’t hide in the “luggage” like Saul. Step into what God’s given you.
Leverage your life so that your time, talents, and treasure point people to Jesus and bless our community. 🙌

If you’re walking through tragedy:

You are not abandoned.
Your pain is not pointless.
Your story is not out of control.
“...for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

You may feel like you’re barely keeping your head above water. The hope of providence is that the same God who raised up kings and moved nations is the One holding you up—even here, even now.

Cling to Him. Be honest with Him. And trust that the hands that were nailed to a cross for you are the same hands quietly, wisely, lovingly guiding every detail of your story.
